How to narrow down a bed frame

1. Size
Usually settled by the room rather than preference. Measure the wall the bed will sit against and allow roughly 60 cm of walking space on each side you actually use. The common upgrade question is double versus queen for two adults — a double is comfortable for one and tight for two long-term. In a child's room the equivalent question is single versus king single: same narrow footprint, but the king single is long enough that a teenager will not outgrow it.
2. Material
