Choosing a Mattress Protector
1. Why use one. A mattress can’t be washed, and staining is excluded from most mattress warranties, ours included. A protector takes the spills and sweat instead, and goes in the washing machine.
2. Check the depth. Depth is how deep a mattress the elasticised skirt stretches over, not how thick the protector is. Measure your mattress from the top surface down to the base, especially a pillow-top. The bamboo protector fits mattresses up to 40 cm deep; the terry cotton protector fits up to 35 cm (40 cm on Super King).
3. Choose the surface. Bamboo or cotton terry. On the terry protector the cotton pile sits on top and a separate PU coating underneath forms the waterproof barrier.
4. Wash it gently. Machine wash on a gentle cycle and follow the care label. Hot washing, hot tumble-drying or ironing damages a waterproof backing for good, so line dry or tumble dry on low.

Choosing a Pillow
A pillow fills the gap between your head and the mattress. As general guidance, side sleepers leave the widest gap and usually need the most height, back sleepers need less, and stomach sleepers are usually better on a low, soft pillow. A shredded memory foam pillow lets you add or remove fill to set your own height. Memory foam can’t be machine-washed, so a waterproof pillow protector keeps it clean. See all pillows.

What’s the difference between a mattress protector and a mattress topper?
A mattress protector is a thin, fitted, washable cover that takes spills and sweat so the mattress doesn’t. A topper is a thicker layer that changes how the bed feels. Our bedding range has protectors, not toppers.
Are your protectors waterproof?
