The Caulfield uses sustainably sourced New Zealand pine for the structural frame — pine plantations in NZ are FSC-certified and well-managed for long-term timber supply. The fluted decorative panels (headboard and footboard) are MDF with the matte black finish applied — MDF stays dimensionally stable across the wide reeded surfaces where solid timber would expand, contract, and eventually crack the painted reeded profile. The pairing delivers genuine timber strength in the frame plus a flawless reeded finish that solid timber alone struggles to hold cleanly over time.

Queen and King only. Single, King Single, and Double are not available. No mattress included.

How does the Caulfield compare to the Cape Town?

Same all-over fluted design language, different finish and mood. Cape Town wears a warm Tasani Brown for softer, more traditional sophistication; the Caulfield wears matte black for bold contemporary impact. How does the matte black finish hold up day-to-day?

Better than gloss black. Matte coatings hide light scratches, fingerprints, and dust far more effectively than high-shine finishes — you don’t see every smudge across the surface. The trade-off: abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals can leave shiny patches where they strip the matte texture. Is the Caulfield solid wood or MDF?

You can order online and pick up for free from our Rocklea Distribution Warehouse at 48 Randolph St, Rocklea QLD 4106, but only by appointment. Call 07 3161 5415 to arrange pickup, and bring your order confirmation email and photo ID to the store.

If you paid by credit card, the cardholder must be there with photo ID to verify details.

Note that when using POLI Internet Banking, goods can be picked up or delivered only after funds are received in our Bank Account. We'll email you about this.

If someone else is picking up for you, contact us beforehand, or you won't get your goods.

  • The standard delivery time frame is within 3 to 7 working days, and there might be delays depending on stock availability.
  • The delivery driver may call you from a private number before delivery; if the customer does not answer the phone, the driver will not attempt delivery unless instructed to leave goods at the property.
