Glass dining tables for Brisbane & Gold Coast homes

A glass dining table keeps a room feeling light and open. Because sight lines pass straight through the top, the table reads as far less bulky than a solid timber or stone one — which makes it one of the best choices for a smaller or darker dining space, an apartment or an open-plan living area. Our Brisbane and Gold Coast range features genuine tempered safety-glass tops in glossy black and clear glass, set over chrome, gold or black-and-gold pedestal bases.

Because we import directly and hold our own stock at our Rocklea warehouse, you get current designs at fair prices with fast local delivery across South-East Queensland — plus five showrooms where you can see the glass and base finish in person before you buy.

Why choose a glass dining table?

A glass top earns its place for three reasons. First, it keeps a room feeling light and open — sight lines pass straight through the glass, so the table never visually crowds the space, which is ideal for smaller or darker rooms. Second, it's easy to keep clean — a non-porous glass surface wipes down in seconds and won't absorb spills or stains. Third, it's safe and strong — every top is genuine tempered safety glass, far stronger than ordinary glass and, in the rare event it breaks, far safer.

How to choose the right glass dining table

1. Size it to your room and household

Decide how many people you seat day to day before you choose a size. A 4-seater suits an apartment or a compact dining nook; a 6-seater is the everyday family favourite; and an 8-seater works for larger rooms and entertaining. Leave around a metre of clearance around the table so chairs pull out easily.

2. Pick your glass and base finish

The top sets the tone. A glossy black tempered top feels dramatic and modern; a clear glass top all but disappears to keep the room feeling open. Underneath, chrome bases keep things bright and contemporary, while gold and black-and-gold pedestals add a touch of warmth and glam. Choose a combination that ties in with your existing chairs and flooring.

3. Match your chairs

Because a glass top is see-through, your chairs do more of the styling. Upholstered or coloured chairs stand out against clear glass, while the base finish — chrome or gold — is an easy cue to follow when picking chair legs or hardware.

Styling a glass dining table in every space

  • Small & open-plan rooms — a clear glass top keeps sight lines open so a compact or open-plan space feels larger and brighter.
  • Modern dining rooms — a glossy black top on a chrome pedestal makes a sleek, contemporary statement.
  • Warmer schemes — pair a gold or black-and-gold base with upholstered chairs to add warmth and a touch of glam.
  • Everyday family use — the non-porous top wipes clean in seconds after meals, homework and craft.

Glass dining tables — frequently asked questions

  • Is tempered glass safe and strong enough for a dining table?

Yes. Every glass top in our range is genuine tempered safety glass, which is heat-treated to be far stronger than ordinary glass and built for everyday household use. In the rare event it does break, tempered glass crumbles into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards, so it's much safer than standard glass.

  • Are glass dining tables easy to clean?

Very. A glass top is non-porous, so it won't absorb spills or stains — a wipe with a soft cloth and a little glass cleaner brings it straight back to a clear, streak-free finish. That makes it a practical choice for everyday family meals.

  • Does a glass dining table scratch easily?

Tempered glass is a hard, durable surface that resists everyday marks well. As with any glass, use placemats or coasters under rough ceramics and avoid dragging abrasive items across the top, and it will keep its clear finish for years.

  • Is a glass dining table good for a small room?

Yes — it's one of the best choices for a compact or darker space. Because sight lines pass straight through the top, a glass table takes up far less visual space than a solid timber or stone one, so the room feels lighter and more open. A clear glass top has the strongest effect.

  • Can I see the tables in person, and do you offer finance?

Yes to both. You can see our glass dining tables at any of our five South-East Queensland showrooms — Rocklea, Virginia, Beenleigh, Bundall and North Ipswich — before you decide. We also offer Afterpay, Zip, Humm and Latitude Interest Free, plus a Layby option on selected products. Find addresses and opening hours.
