Who an extra firm mattress is genuinely for

Most extra firm mattresses get their hardness from a coconut coir layer — a dense, naturally rigid fibre pad — set over an innerspring or high-density foam base for support and durability. The remaining firmness comes from a heavier spring wire gauge and a dense, firm comfort layer: the same two levers that set any firmness, tuned here with coir for the strongest support and minimal sink.
