The Build

The Courtney uses hybrid construction. Structural elements (frame, side rails, legs, central support legs, slat supports) are solid rubber wood; the decorative panels (the tongue-and-groove panel surfaces) are MDF painted in crisp white. The mid-brown timber tops at the head and foot of the bed are solid rubber wood, finished naturally to show the grain. Slat support is engineered LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) — denser and more uniform than standard pine slats, providing reliable mattress support without flex.

Dust the Panel Grooves Regularly

Use a soft brush along the tongue-and-groove channels — the vertical grooves collect more dust than flat surfaces. Pay attention to the corners where the inset panels meet the painted timber frame.

Damp Cloth Only on the Painted Finish

Wipe with a damp (not wet) cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals on the white paint — gentle wipe-downs preserve the finish far longer than aggressive cleaning.

Care for the Mid-Brown Timber Tops

The natural rubber wood tops at the head and foot show their grain — wipe gently with a soft cloth, dry immediately after spills, and avoid prolonged sun exposure to keep the colour even over time.

Double and Queen only. King Single, King, and Single are not available. The Double + Queen offering makes the Courtney a strong fit for guest rooms, second bedrooms, and smaller master suites. No mattress included.

What are LVL slats and why does the 14mm matter?

LVL stands for Laminated Veneer Lumber — engineered timber bonded in thin layers, denser and more uniform than standard pine slats. The 14mm thickness is a meaningful spec: thinner pine slats can flex or bow over time, especially with heavier mattresses. 14mm LVL holds firm. Combined with the central support legs, the slat system is engineered for daily use rather than minimum compliance.

Is the Courtney solid wood or MDF?

Hybrid construction. The structural elements (frame, legs, slat supports, central support legs) and the mid-brown timber tops at the head and foot are solid rubber wood. The decorative panel surfaces (the tongue-and-groove areas) are MDF painted crisp white — MDF stays dimensionally stable across painted panel surfaces where solid timber would crack the paint over time.

Pick Up.

You can order online and pick up for free from our Rocklea Distribution Warehouse at 48 Randolph St, Rocklea QLD 4106, but only by appointment. Call 07 3161 5415 to arrange pickup, and bring your order confirmation email and photo ID to the store.

If you paid by credit card, the cardholder must be there with photo ID to verify details.

Note that when using POLI Internet Banking, goods can be picked up or delivered only after funds are received in our Bank Account. We'll email you about this.

If someone else is picking up for you, contact us beforehand, or you won't get your goods.

Your eligible items are dispatched from our Rocklea warehouse, typically within 3 to 7 working days, depending on stock availability. Delivery is to ground level or front garage only — the driver will not bring goods inside, take them upstairs or unpack them. If you'd like assembly or in-home placement, you can add this at checkout under our Assembly Terms.

  • Available for outright payments only (No Payment Plan, Layby).
  • Only available for addresses that are less than 10 km from our Rocklea Warehouse. The distance is determined using Google Maps.
  • Delivery is strict till the garage / ground floor. The driver will not take it inside, upstairs or unpack the goods.
  • The standard delivery time frame is within 3 to 7 working days, and there might be delays depending on stock availability.
  • The delivery driver may call you from a private number before delivery; if the customer does not answer the phone, the driver will not attempt delivery unless instructed to leave goods at the property.
  • The A2Z Furniture has complete discretion to change any policy aspect without prior notice.
