Soft Comfort, Tailored Style
A fabric bed frame is the easy way to make a bedroom feel finished and calm. The padded headboard gives you something soft to lean against for reading or morning coffee, the upholstered surround softens the lines of the room, and woven fabric in a muted tone settles quietly into almost any colour scheme. Our range is chosen for honest value and everyday durability — well-padded headboards, sturdy frames and hardwearing fabrics — at prices that suit real Australian homes.
Colours to Suit Your Room
Fabric is where colour does the work. Grey fabric bed frames are the most popular for their easy, go-with-anything neutrality; beige and cream tones keep a room light and warm; and charcoal or black fabric adds depth and a more formal feel. Each shade pairs beautifully with soft bedding, rugs and warm bedside lighting — so you can match the bed to the mood of the room rather than the other way around.
Fabric Beds in Every Size
Most of our fabric designs come right across the Australian range. The fabric double bed suits guest rooms and smaller spaces, the fabric queen bed frame is the popular choice for main bedrooms, and the fabric king bed frame anchors a larger master. Browse by size:
Storage Options
A fabric bed can hide a surprising amount away. Many designs offer built-in drawers for folded clothing and linen, while gas-lift versions raise the whole mattress base to reveal a deep storage cavity beneath — ideal for spare bedding, luggage or off-season clothes. Browse our storage bed frames and gas-lift beds to see the fabric options.
Fabric, Velvet or Upholstered?
They're all part of the same soft-bed family, with a few differences worth knowing:
Fabric
The broad category — durable woven fabrics in neutral tones. Hardwearing, easy to live with and the most versatile choice for most bedrooms.
Velvet
A plush, light-catching pile with a more luxe feel. If that's the look you're after, browse our dedicated velvet bed frames.
Upholstered
Beds with fuller padding across the frame and headboard for a softer, more enveloping shape. See the range of upholstered beds.
Comfort, Support & Care
The padded headboard is the comfort centrepiece — generous to lean against and quiet against the wall. Underneath, a slatted base supports the mattress directly and lets it breathe, so you don't need a separate ensemble base; larger double, queen and king frames include a centre support rail where applicable to keep the mattress firm and prevent sagging. Caring for fabric is straightforward: vacuum the upholstery regularly with a soft brush head, spot-clean spills promptly by blotting (not rubbing) with a mild fabric cleaner, and keep the bed out of strong direct sun to avoid uneven fading.
Why Buy Your Fabric Bed at A2Z
We keep it simple: well-made fabric and upholstered bed frames at honest, direct prices, held in stock locally so you're not waiting weeks on an interstate order. Better still, fabric tone and headboard feel are hard to judge on a screen — so you can see and lean on the real thing across five South-East Queensland showrooms before you commit, and take most in-stock frames home the same day.
See It Before You Buy
Our showrooms in Brisbane (Rocklea), Ipswich, Bundall, Sandgate and Beenleigh hold stock locally, so most in-stock frames can be picked up the same day. Find your nearest store. Free local delivery is available within roughly 10 km of our Rocklea warehouse, with paid delivery to the wider Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba regions, and flexible payment through Afterpay, Zip, Humm and Latitude. Every frame carries a 12-month warranty unless otherwise noted — see our warranty & returns policy.
Fabric Bed Frame FAQs
How do I clean a fabric bed frame?
Vacuum the upholstery regularly with a soft brush attachment to lift dust, and deal with spills straight away by blotting — not rubbing — with a clean cloth and a little mild fabric cleaner. Check any care label on the frame first, and keep the bed out of strong direct sun to prevent uneven fading over time.
What's the difference between fabric, velvet and upholstered beds?
They're closely related. "Fabric" is the broad category of woven, neutral-toned upholstery; velvet is a plush, light-catching pile with a more luxe look (see our velvet beds); and "upholstered" usually means fuller padding across the frame and headboard (see our upholstered beds).
What colours do fabric bed frames come in?
The most popular is grey for its easy neutrality, alongside beige and cream for a lighter, warmer look and charcoal or black for more depth. Availability varies by design, so check each product page for the exact shade and fabric.
What sizes are available?
Most fabric designs come across the Australian range — single, king single, double, queen and king. Popular picks are the fabric double, fabric queen and fabric king bed frame. We don't stock super-king. Use the size links above to see what's available.
Do fabric bed frames come with storage?
Yes — many include built-in drawers, and gas-lift designs raise the mattress base to reveal a large storage area beneath. Check our storage and gas-lift collections for the fabric options.
Do I need a separate base, or do the slats support the mattress?
The slatted base supports the mattress directly, so you don't need a separate ensemble or bed base — just your mattress on the frame. Larger sizes include a centre support rail where applicable to keep everything firm.
Are fabric bed frames easy to assemble?
They arrive flat-packed with clear instructions and the fixings included. Assembly is straightforward, though a second person makes handling the padded headboard and side rails easier. Specifics are noted on each product page.
