The Palmdale Bed Frame is a tall, fully upholstered statement bed in black boucle fabric, defined by two flat rectangular headboard panels with horizontal channel-tufting flanking a central matte black display unit with cubby shelves and built-in LED lighting. The upholstered base wraps the bed in boucle down to the small dark turned legs at the corners. Available in Queen and King sizes — a standalone statement bed, not part of a coordinated range.

About the Boucle

The Palmdale is fully upholstered in boucle fabric — a looped yarn weave with a soft, nubby, textured surface (the small visible loops are the design feature, not a defect). Most modern boucle upholstery is polyester or polyester-blend rather than natural wool or cotton boucle — more durable, easier to clean, holds colour better. The black tone reads as a deep matte black in person. If natural-fibre boucle matters specifically for your purchase, check with the showroom team before ordering.

Vacuum the Boucle Gently

Use an upholstery attachment on low suction to remove dust without pulling at the loops. Avoid catching jewellery or sharp objects on the fabric — pulled loops are the most common boucle damage.

Blot Spills Immediately

Use a clean dry cloth to blot (never rub) any spills on the boucle. Liquid sitting on the fabric leaves marks — act quickly.

Operate the LED Safely

Turn off LED lighting when not needed to extend bulb life. Refer to the instruction manual for switch operation and bulb replacement procedures.

What sizes is the Palmdale available in?

Queen and King only. Single, King Single, and Double are not available. No mattress included.

Is the boucle natural or synthetic?

How does the LED lighting work?

The Palmdale has built-in LED lighting inside the central display cubbies. Switch operation and bulb specifications are covered in the instruction manual included with the bed. Bulbs are replaceable. We recommend reviewing the manual before assembly so the wiring connections are handled correctly on first build.

What can I put in the display cubbies?

Books, candles, picture frames, small vases, art objects, alarm clocks, drink glasses — anything you’d normally display on a bedside surface. The shelves give you display capacity at headboard height where it’s visible without taking up bedside table space. The LED lighting highlights what’s on display.

How do I clean spills on the boucle?

Blot (never rub) immediately with a clean dry cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible. For set-in marks, use the Guardsman Fabric Care Kit. Treating the boucle with Guardsman Fabric Protector when new helps repel spills before they soak in.

Pick Up.

You can order online and pick up for free from our Rocklea Distribution Warehouse at 48 Randolph St, Rocklea QLD 4106, but only by appointment. Call 07 3161 5415 to arrange pickup, and bring your order confirmation email and photo ID to the store.

If you paid by credit card, the cardholder must be there with photo ID to verify details.

Note that when using POLI Internet Banking, goods can be picked up or delivered only after funds are received in our Bank Account. We'll email you about this.

If someone else is picking up for you, contact us beforehand, or you won't get your goods.

Your eligible items are dispatched from our Rocklea warehouse, typically within 3 to 7 working days, depending on stock availability. Delivery is to ground level or front garage only — the driver will not bring goods inside, take them upstairs or unpack them. If you'd like assembly or in-home placement, you can add this at checkout under our Assembly Terms.

  • Available for outright payments only (No Payment Plan, Layby).
  • Only available for addresses that are less than 10 km from our Rocklea Warehouse. The distance is determined using Google Maps.
  • Delivery is strict till the garage / ground floor. The driver will not take it inside, upstairs or unpack the goods.
  • The standard delivery time frame is within 3 to 7 working days, and there might be delays depending on stock availability.
  • The delivery driver may call you from a private number before delivery; if the customer does not answer the phone, the driver will not attempt delivery unless instructed to leave goods at the property.
  • The A2Z Furniture has complete discretion to change any policy aspect without prior notice.
