Camira Bookcase Bed Frame

The Camira is available in Queen and King sizes. Single, King Single, and Double sizes are not available for this bed. The bed takes a standard mattress of the matching size; no mattress is included with the frame.

The headboard has three distinct storage zones working together. Open cubby compartments sit on the outer left and right of the headboard — sized for books, alarm clocks, plants, photo frames, water bottles, or anything else you want close at hand. Two stacked pull-out drawers sit in the centre between the cubbies — useful for items you’d rather keep out of sight, like charging cables, jewellery, current paperbacks, or items that’d clutter the open shelves. A decorative fluted band runs across the very top, completing the headboard’s look. Combined with the two footboard drawers, the Camira provides both visible display storage and hidden drawer storage built into the bed itself — particularly useful in bedrooms where wardrobe space is tight or where you want to minimise additional bedside furniture.

The Camira has integrated lighting built into the headboard compartments — designed to provide warm, functional illumination for reading or relaxing in bed without needing separate bedside lamps. For the specifics of switch location, power source, bulb type, and how to operate or replace the lighting, refer to the included instruction manual or ask the showroom team for a walkthrough. The lighting is designed for indoor bedroom use; don’t expose the light fittings to moisture and don’t exceed any wattage specifications listed in the manual.

The Camira is constructed in MDF (medium-density fibreboard) with a smooth laminate finish throughout — in either White or Black depending on the colourway you choose. It is not solid timber. We disclose this directly because some buyers assume any bedroom furniture is solid timber by default. MDF is widely used in contemporary bedroom furniture because it stays flat and stable across wide panels (particularly important for the bookcase headboard), accepts the crisp painted finish that gives the Camira its clean contemporary look, and keeps the price meaningfully accessible. The same design in solid timber would look different (grain and knots competing with the crisp lines) and cost considerably more. The Camira range includes four coordinated pieces, all sold separately: the Camira Bookcase Bed Frame (this page), the Camira Bedside Table, the Camira Tallboy, and the Camira Dresser with Mirror. Each piece carries the same fluted top detail and crisp laminate finish, so the bedroom reads as one coordinated range when used together. Even with the bookcase headboard providing built-in storage, the matching bedside tables add useful additional surface area beside the bed for items the headboard cubbies can’t hold or that you want at desk-height rather than headboard-height.

The Camira is sold as a frame only — no mattress is included. Straight wooden slats are included, so you don’t need an ensemble base or a separate slat set; place your mattress directly on the slats. Pocket spring, memory foam, latex, bamboo, and mattress-in-a-box options all suit the Camira.
