An Australian-made fitted protector built from a cotton terry pile on top and a PU (polyurethane) coating underneath. The terry is soft and absorbent against the skin; the PU coating is the waterproof barrier. Splitting the job across two layers is what lets it stop liquid without feeling like plastic — and it is our lowest-priced protector.

A soft, absorbent pile against the skin that breathes and lets air circulate, so the bed stays cooler than it would under a plastic-feel protector.
PU waterproof backing
A polyurethane coating on the underside forms the barrier that stops spills, sweat and accidents reaching the mattress.

An elasticised skirt gives a fully fitted finish over the mattress — 35 cm depth on most sizes, 40 cm on Super King — and suits standard and pillow-top mattresses.

Liquid and stains
The PU coating is a physical barrier. Spilled drinks, sweat, and accidents from kids or pets stay on the protector rather than soaking into the mattress, where they are effectively permanent.
Your mattress warranty
Staining is excluded from most mattress warranties, ours included. A protector is the practical way to keep a stain from turning a warranty claim into a refusal.

Depth describes how deep a mattress the elasticised skirt stretches over, not the thickness of the protector itself. Most sizes fit up to 35 cm; Super King fits up to 40 cm. Measure your mattress from the top surface down to the base before ordering, especially if it is a pillow-top.

Why terry cotton over a PU coating
The two layers are doing different jobs. Cotton terry has a looped pile that is absorbent and breathable, so the surface against your sheet feels like towelling rather than sheeting — it takes up moisture instead of letting it pool. Underneath, the PU coating is what actually stops liquid getting through. Cheaper protectors try to do both jobs with one plastic-backed layer, which is where the rustling and the hot, clammy feel come from.

A protector is designed to be washed, and washing it is the whole point — but a PU coating does not like heat.
Washing
Machine wash on a gentle cycle. Follow the care label sewn into the protector for water temperature. Wash it whenever it needs it — that is what it is for.
Avoid high heat
Do not use a hot wash, a hot tumble-dry, or an iron on the coated side. Heat degrades a PU coating permanently and the waterproofing will not come back. Line dry or tumble dry on low.

Your mattress protector is covered against manufacturing faults in materials and workmanship for 1 years from the date of purchase.
What the warranty does not cover
- Damage caused by washing against the care instructions — machine-washing a filling that is spot-clean only, tumble-drying, bleaching or dry-cleaning.
- Loss of waterproofing caused by heat — hot washing, hot tumble-drying or ironing the coated side. Heat damage to a waterproof backing is permanent and is not a manufacturing fault.
- Normal wear with age and repeated washing — fabric thinning and elastic that gradually loosens. This is expected wear, not a fault.
This warranty is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
