Larger double, queen and king frames include a centre support rail where applicable to keep the mattress firm and prevent sagging. Upholstered beds do ask for a little more care than timber or metal: vacuum the fabric regularly with a soft brush head, blot spills promptly rather than rubbing, and keep the bed out of strong direct sun to protect the colour.
