Overview
A lean-back executive chair with a footrest
The Copenhagen is the most generously padded chair we stock, and it's built for a different job to the rest of the range. Quilted padding runs the full length of the back and the seat, the backrest reclines on a tilt lever, and a footrest pulls out from under the seat — so you can push back between calls and actually put your feet up. Black technology fabric on a white five-star base gives it a cleaner look than the usual all-black executive chair. One thing to check before you buy: the seat sits high, at 52 cm at its lowest, so it wants a desk of about 76 cm or taller. More on that below — it's the single thing that decides whether this chair is right for you.
Retractable Footrest
A footrest pulls out from under the seat and slides neatly back when you're done — the only chair in our office range with one. Paired with the recline, it turns the chair into somewhere to think between tasks rather than just somewhere to type.
Quilted High Back
Deep quilted padding runs the full length of the back and continues across the seat. The back is tall — 58 cm above the seat — so it supports you well up past the shoulder blades, though there's no separate adjustable headrest.
Reclining Tilt Lever
A lever under the seat sets the recline angle, so you can switch between sitting up to work and leaning back. It's a lever rather than a tension dial — you set the angle, not the resistance.
Black on a White Base
Black quilted upholstery paired with a white five-star base and white armrest supports — a deliberate contrast that lifts the chair in a lighter or Scandi-style room instead of anchoring it the way an all-black executive chair does.

Read this before you buy: it needs a tall desk
The Copenhagen is the one chair in our range where fit genuinely decides the purchase, so we'll lead with it rather than bury it. The seat is plush and it sits high — 52 cm at its lowest, which is 5 cm above our Cloud and 9 cm above our Clontarf. That's fine at a tall desk and a problem at a standard one. Here are the numbers so you can check your own desk before you order.

- Measure your desk first — this one matters. At the Copenhagen's lowest setting of 52 cm you get 20 cm of thigh clearance under a 72 cm desk and 23 cm under a 75 cm one. Both are below the 25–30 cm most people want. The chair comes into its own under a desk of roughly 76 cm or taller, which is what executive desks tend to be.
- The fixed arms are the harder limit. They sit 70 cm off the floor with the seat all the way down. A 72 cm desk with a typical apron has an underside around 68–69 cm, so the arms will not pass under it at all. At 75 cm you get a couple of centimetres. Unlike our mesh chairs these arms don't flip up, so there's no fallback — measure the underside of your desk, not the top.
- If your desk is standard height, buy a different chair. We'd rather say so. The Cloud drops to 45 cm and the Clontarf to 43 cm, and both tuck under a 72–75 cm desk comfortably.
- The footrest is the point. A high seat and a footrest go together: if your feet don't sit flat at 52 cm, the footrest is there to take them. This is a chair designed to be leaned back in, not tucked under — which is exactly what an executive chair is for.
- Allow room. At 66 cm wide and 75 cm deep it's the largest chair in our range, and deeper again with the footrest out. Allow around 75 cm of clear floor behind the desk edge, more if you'll be reclining.
Comfort can't be guessed from a photo. This chair in particular is worth sitting in — the seat height and the footrest either suit the way you work or they don't. Technology fabric is a tight-woven upholstery chosen for everyday durability — it wears better than a loose weave and resists pilling. It is not a stain-resistant or waterproof finish, and we don't claim it is: blot spills promptly and keep it out of harsh direct sun. The white base and arm supports are the part that shows marks, so they're worth a wipe more often than the fabric. Colours on screen are approximate; we recommend seeing the finish in a showroom before you buy.
Caring for your chair
Vacuum the quilting
Run the upholstery brush along the quilted seams every week or so. Quilted seams collect crumbs and dust faster than a flat panel does.
Blot spills straight away
Blot with a dry cloth the moment something goes on it — rubbing pushes the spill into the weave instead of lifting it out.
Wipe the white base
White shows scuffs that a black base hides. A damp cloth on the base and arm supports every few weeks keeps the contrast looking deliberate rather than tired.
Check the footrest and bolts
Slide the footrest fully in and out occasionally so the runner stays free, and give the base bolts a twice-yearly once-over with the supplied key.

Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. The chair travels flat-packed in one compact carton, so stairs and doorways are rarely a problem.

This is the question to settle before you order. The fixed armrests sit 70 cm off the floor at the lowest seat setting. A 72 cm desk with a typical apron has an underside around 68-69 cm, so the arms will not pass under it. At 75 cm you get a couple of centimetres, and above 76 cm it is comfortable.
