Overview

A mesh task chair you can actually set up to fit you

The Casino is a full-mesh task chair built for a home office or study desk. The back and seat are both mesh, so warm air escapes instead of building up against you through a long session, and the things that decide whether a chair suits your body all move: the seat rises from 47 to 55 cm on a gas lift, the headrest slides up and down its track, the backrest reclines, and a tension dial sets how much resistance it gives as you lean. The armrests flip up out of the way, so the whole chair rolls under the desk when you're done. It comes in black mesh on a black frame, or grey mesh on a white frame.

Breathable Mesh Back & Seat

Mesh on both the backrest and the seat, not just the back. Woven mesh lets warm air pass through rather than trapping it the way solid foam upholstery does β€” the difference is most noticeable in a Queensland summer.

Height-Adjustable Headrest

The headrest slides up and down on its own track, so you can set it to actually meet your head and neck rather than pushing at your shoulders β€” the usual problem with a fixed headrest on a shorter or taller user.

Flip-Up Armrests

The arms fold up against the backrest. That drops the chair's profile so it slides right under a desk between sessions, and it gets the arms out of the way if your desk has a low apron or a keyboard tray.

Reclining Tilt & Tension Dial

The backrest reclines, and a tension dial under the seat sets how much resistance it gives as you lean β€” wind it up for firm support, back it off for an easier rock. The gas lift sets the seat from 47 to 55 cm and the five-star base swivels a full 360Β°.

Will it fit?

What adjusts, and will it fit your desk?

Most office chairs at this price are sold on a photo and a word β€” "ergonomic" β€” without telling you the one number that decides whether the chair suits you: how high the seat actually goes. Here is the Casino's full adjustment list, including the things it doesn't do, and the two checks that settle whether it works at your desk.

Seat height47 – 55 cm β€” gas lift, adjusts anywhere in between
Backrest reclineYes β€” reclining tilt
Tilt tension dialYes β€” set how much resistance the backrest gives as you lean
HeadrestHeight-adjustable β€” slides up and down its track (height only; it doesn't tilt)
ArmrestsFlip-up β€” fold up against the backrest
Swivel & castors360Β° β€” five-star castor base
Adjustable lumbar padNot on this chair β€” no separate lumbar adjustment. The Cloud has a shaped lumbar curve
Sliding seat depthNot on this chair
47–55 cmSeat height range. Australian desks run 72–75 cm, and you want 25–30 cm between the seat top and the desk underside.
67 cmHow high the armrests sit off the floor at the lowest seat setting β€” the number that decides whether the chair rolls under your desk.
60 Γ— 60 cmFloor footprint, so you can check it against the space between your desk and the wall.
  • Check your desk height first. Measure floor to desktop. At the Casino's lowest setting of 47 cm you get 25 cm of clearance under a 72 cm desk and 28 cm under a 75 cm one β€” both inside the recommended band. Wind it up towards 55 cm for a standing-desk-height perch or a taller work surface.
  • Will your feet reach the floor? This is the honest catch. A 47 cm minimum seat suits most adults from roughly 170 cm tall. If you're shorter than that, your feet may not sit flat at the lowest setting β€” the Clontarf drops to 43 cm and is the better pick, or use a footrest.
  • Will the arms clear your desk? The armrests sit 67 cm off the floor with the seat all the way down, so they clear the underside of most 72–75 cm desks. If yours has a deep apron or a pull-out keyboard tray, flip the arms up and the problem disappears β€” which is exactly what they're for.
  • Check the floor space. The base is 60 cm across and the chair is 60 cm deep, so allow around 60 cm of clear floor behind your desk edge to roll back and stand up comfortably.

Comfort can't be guessed from a photo. An office chair is the most personal piece of furniture you'll buy. Sit in the Casino at any of our five South East Queensland showrooms β€” Rocklea, Virginia, Beenleigh, Bundall and North Ipswich β€” set it to your body, and buy it only when it's right. Or call the team on 07 3161 5415 and we'll check it against your desk height first.

Mesh was chosen for airflow β€” it lets warm air escape rather than holding it against you the way solid foam upholstery does, and it holds its shape under daily use. It is a breathable material, not a cooled one. Mesh colours on screen are approximate; we recommend seeing the finishes in a showroom before you buy.

Caring for your chair

🧹

Vacuum the mesh

Run a soft brush attachment over the weave regularly to lift dust and crumbs out of the mesh rather than pressing them further in.

πŸ’§

Spot-clean spills

Blot a spill straight away with a damp cloth and let the mesh air-dry. Blot, don't rub β€” rubbing works the spill deeper into the weave.

🚫

Skip harsh cleaners

No bleach, solvents or abrasive scourers. They break down the fibres and can leave the weave permanently marked or slack.

πŸ”©

Snug the bolts twice a year

Every wheeled chair loosens a little with daily use. A twice-yearly once-over with the supplied key keeps the base tight and quiet.

What's in the box

Flat-packed β€” you assemble it

The Casino ships flat-packed in a single carton. It's a straightforward build: the seat, back and headrest arrive made up, and you fit the base, castors, gas lift and arms. All the hardware you need is in the box. If you'd rather not, add assembly above for $30 and our team will build it on delivery.

Includes
One Casino mesh office chair β€” seat and back, headrest, armrests, gas lift, five-star base, five castors, fixings
Assembly
Required β€” tools supplied in the carton, or add assembly for $30
Sold as
One chair

The price is for the chair only β€” the desk and styling props are not included. Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different. We highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase.

Compare the range

How the Casino compares to our other office chairs

We keep seven office chairs, and the honest answer is that the right one depends on your height, your desk and whether you want mesh or padding. Here's the whole range side by side β€” the seat height range is the number worth comparing first.

ChairPriceSeat heightBackHeadrestArmrests
Clontarf Fabric $125 43–55 cm Padded mid-back No Fixed loop
Casino Mesh (this chair) $179 47–55 cm Mesh Adjustable Flip-up
Cloud Mesh $199 45–55 cm Mesh, lumbar curve Adjustable Flip-up
Camp Fabric $199 45–53 cm Three-panel padded No Fixed chrome
Camp PU Leather $199 45–53 cm Three-panel padded No Fixed chrome
Copenhagen Executive $249 52–60 cm Quilted high back No Fixed padded

Choosing between the two mesh chairs? They're very close β€” both have an adjustable headrest, flip-up arms, a reclining tilt and a tension dial. The Cloud starts 2 cm lower at 45 cm and adds a shaped lumbar curve; the Casino is $20 less. Pair either with the Monalisa Study Table or the Homestead Study Desk, or browse all home office furniture.

Delivery & pickup

Two ways to get it home

Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance β€” enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. The chair travels flat-packed in one compact carton, so stairs and doorways are rarely a problem.

Collect free from our Rocklea distribution warehouse by appointment. The carton is compact enough for a hatchback boot or a back seat. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID. For full terms, see our Pickup & Delivery Terms.

Change-of-mind returns are accepted under our Return Policy; full conditions apply.

FAQ

Common questions

From 47 cm at its lowest to 55 cm at its highest, adjustable anywhere in between with the gas lift lever under the seat. Australian desks are usually 72–75 cm, and you want 25–30 cm between the top of the seat and the underside of the desk β€” so at 47 cm you get 25 cm under a 72 cm desk and 28 cm under a 75 cm one.

The seat's lowest setting is 47 cm, which suits most adults from around 170 cm tall. If you're shorter, your feet may not sit flat on the floor at the lowest setting. The Clontarf Fabric Office Chair drops to 43 cm and is the better fit, or a footrest solves it. Best of all, come and sit in both at one of our showrooms.

The armrests sit 67 cm off the floor with the seat all the way down, so they clear the underside of most 72–75 cm desks. If your desk has a deep apron or a pull-out keyboard tray, flip the armrests up against the backrest and the chair rolls straight under. The base is 60 cm across, so allow about 60 cm of clear floor behind the desk edge.

Five things: the seat height (47–55 cm on the gas lift), the headrest (slides up and down its track β€” height only, it doesn't tilt), the backrest (reclining tilt), the tilt tension (a dial under the seat sets how much resistance the backrest gives), and the armrests (flip up against the backrest). What it does not have is an adjustable lumbar pad or a sliding seat depth β€” the Cloud Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair adds a shaped lumbar curve.

A rated weight capacity isn't printed on our supplier's paperwork, so we won't quote a number we can't stand behind. If it's a deciding factor for your order, call our showroom team on 07 3161 5415 and we'll check a floor piece before you buy.

Vacuum the weave regularly with a soft brush attachment, and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth rather than rubbing them in. Let it air-dry. Avoid bleach, solvents and abrasive scourers β€” they break down the fibres and can leave the weave slack or marked.

Yes. It ships flat-packed in one carton with the tools included. The seat, back and headrest arrive made up and you fit the base, castors, gas lift and armrests. It's a straightforward build with no special tools needed. If you'd rather skip it, tick the assembly option above and our team will build it on delivery for $30 per chair β€” the assembly quantity matches however many chairs you order.

Very close. Both are full-mesh with a height-adjustable headrest, flip-up armrests, a reclining tilt and a tilt-tension dial. Two differences: the Cloud's seat starts 2 cm lower at 45 cm, and its backrest has a shaped lumbar curve. The Casino is $20 less at $179. If you're on the shorter side or you want the lumbar shaping, choose the Cloud; otherwise the Casino does the same job for less.

Full details

Casino Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair β€” full product details

The Casino Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair is a full-mesh swivel task chair for a home office or study desk, available in black mesh on a black frame or grey mesh on a white frame. The seat adjusts from 47 to 55 cm on a gas lift, the seat pan measures 50 Γ— 50 cm, and the chair occupies a 60 Γ— 60 cm footprint with an overall height of 120–128 cm including the headrest. It carries a 1-year warranty and is $179.

Both the backrest and the seat are woven mesh, chosen for airflow β€” warm air passes through the weave instead of building up against you the way it does on solid foam upholstery. Five things adjust: the seat height, the headrest (which slides up and down its own track, height only), the reclining backrest, the tilt tension (a dial under the seat sets the backrest's resistance), and the flip-up armrests, which fold against the backrest so the chair rolls fully under a desk. It does not have an adjustable lumbar pad or a sliding seat depth β€” the Cloud Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair adds a shaped lumbar curve for $199.

On desk fit: Australian desks run 72–75 cm high and you want 25–30 cm between the top of the seat and the underside of the desk, so the Casino's 47 cm minimum gives 25 cm under a 72 cm desk and 28 cm under a 75 cm one. The armrests sit 67 cm off the floor at the lowest seat setting, clearing most desks β€” and flipping them up solves a deep apron or keyboard tray. A 47 cm minimum seat suits most adults from around 170 cm tall; shorter users should look at the Clontarf Fabric Office Chair, which drops to 43 cm.

The chair ships flat-packed in one carton with the tools included, or you can add in-home assembly for $30 per chair and our team will build it on delivery. A rated weight capacity and carton dimensions aren't printed on our supplier's paperwork, so we don't publish them β€” call our showroom team on 07 3161 5415 if either matters for your order. Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different. Because comfort can't be judged from a photo, we recommend sitting in it first: browse all office chairs or all home office furniture, then see it in person at any of our five A2Z Furniture showrooms β€” Rocklea, Virginia, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich and Beenleigh.
