Overview
The mesh chair that drops low enough for most people
The Cloud is a full-mesh task chair, and its seat drops to 45 cm β low enough that most adults can sit with their feet flat on the floor, which is the single thing most budget office chairs get wrong. Mesh across both the back and the seat keeps air moving through a long session, and the backrest is shaped with a lumbar curve that supports the small of your back. The headrest adjusts, the recline has a tension dial, and the armrests flip up so the whole chair rolls under the desk. Black or grey mesh, both on a clean white frame.
Breathable Mesh Back & Seat
Mesh on the backrest and the seat, not just the back. The weave lets warm air escape instead of holding it against you the way solid foam upholstery does β the difference shows up on a humid Queensland afternoon.
Shaped Lumbar Curve
The backrest is shaped with a curve that sits into the small of your back rather than leaving it unsupported. It's built into the frame β a fixed contour, not a pad you adjust β so there's nothing to set up or knock out of position.
Drops to a 45 cm Seat
Two centimetres lower than our Casino, and it matters: 45 cm puts the recommended 27β30 cm of clearance under a standard Australian desk and suits most adults from around 165 cm tall.
Flip-Up Arms & Tension Dial
The armrests fold up against the backrest so the chair tucks fully under a desk, and a tension dial under the seat sets how much resistance the backrest gives as you lean.
Will it fit?
What adjusts, and will it fit your desk?
Most office chairs at this price are sold on a photo and the word "ergonomic", without telling you the number that actually decides whether the chair suits you: how low the seat goes. Here is the Cloud's full adjustment list β including what it doesn't do β and the checks that settle whether it works at your desk.
| Seat height | 45 β 55 cm β gas lift, adjusts anywhere in between |
|---|---|
| Backrest recline | Yes β reclining tilt |
| Tilt tension dial | Yes β set how much resistance the backrest gives as you lean |
| Headrest | Adjustable β tilts and pivots to meet your head and neck |
| Lumbar | Shaped curve β contoured into the backrest (a fixed curve, not an adjustable pad) |
| Armrests | Flip-up β fold up against the backrest |
| Swivel & castors | 360Β° β five-star castor base |
| Sliding seat depth | Not on this chair |
- Check your desk height first. Measure floor to desktop. At the Cloud's lowest setting of 45 cm you get 27 cm of clearance under a 72 cm desk and 30 cm under a 75 cm one β right in the middle of the recommended band at both ends. Wind it up towards 55 cm for a taller work surface.
- Will your feet reach the floor? This is where the Cloud earns its money. A 45 cm minimum suits most adults from around 165 cm tall β two centimetres lower than the Casino, which is the difference between feet flat and feet dangling for a lot of people. If you're shorter still, the Clontarf drops to 43 cm.
- Will the arms clear your desk? The armrests sit 65 cm off the floor with the seat all the way down, so they clear the underside of most 72β75 cm desks. If yours has a deep apron or a pull-out keyboard tray, flip the arms up against the backrest and the chair rolls straight under.
- Check the floor space. The chair is 64 cm wide and 70 cm deep, so allow around 70 cm of clear floor behind your desk edge to roll back and stand up comfortably. It's the deepest chair in our office range β worth measuring in a tight study.
Comfort can't be guessed from a photo. An office chair is the most personal piece of furniture you'll buy. Sit in the Cloud at any of our five South East Queensland showrooms β Rocklea, Virginia, Beenleigh, Bundall and North Ipswich β set it to your body, and buy it only when it's right. Or call the team on 07 3161 5415 and we'll check it against your desk height first.

Mesh was chosen for airflow β it lets warm air escape rather than holding it against you the way solid foam upholstery does, and it holds its shape under daily use. It is a breathable material, not a cooled one. The lumbar curve is shaped into the backrest itself, so it isn't something you adjust. Mesh colours on screen are approximate; we recommend seeing the finishes in a showroom before you buy.
Caring for your chair
Vacuum the mesh
Run a soft brush attachment over the weave regularly to lift dust and crumbs out of the mesh rather than pressing them further in.
Spot-clean spills
Blot a spill straight away with a damp cloth and let the mesh air-dry. Blot, don't rub β rubbing works the spill deeper into the weave.
Wipe the white frame
A white frame shows marks a black one hides. A damp cloth on the frame and base every few weeks keeps it looking new β do it before scuffs have time to set.
Snug the bolts twice a year
Every wheeled chair loosens a little with daily use. A twice-yearly once-over with the supplied key keeps the base tight and quiet.
What's in the box

All the hardware you need is in the box. If you'd rather not, add assembly above for $30 and our team will build it on delivery.

Compare the range
How the Cloud compares to our other office chairs
We keep seven office chairs, and the honest answer is that the right one depends on your height, your desk and whether you want mesh or padding. Here's the range side by side β compare the seat height range first, it decides more than anything else on the list.
| Chair | Price | Seat height | Back | Headrest | Armrests |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clontarf Fabric | $125 | 43β55 cm | Padded mid-back | No | Fixed loop |
| Casino Mesh | $179 | 47β55 cm | Mesh | Adjustable | Flip-up |
| Cloud Mesh (this chair) | $199 | 45β55 cm | Mesh, lumbar curve | Adjustable | Flip-up |
| Camp Fabric | $199 | 45β53 cm | Three-panel padded | No | Fixed chrome |
| Camp PU Leather | $199 | 45β53 cm | Three-panel padded | No | Fixed chrome |
| Copenhagen Executive | $249 | 52β60 cm | Quilted high back | No | Fixed padded |
Choosing between the two mesh chairs? They're very close β both have an adjustable headrest, flip-up arms, a reclining tilt and a tension dial. The Cloud drops 2 cm lower to a 45 cm seat and adds the shaped lumbar curve; the Casino does the rest of the job for $20 less. Pair either with the Monalisa Study Table or the Homestead Study Desk, or browse all home office furniture.
Delivery & pickup
Two ways to get it home
Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance β enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. The chair travels flat-packed in one compact carton, so stairs and doorways are rarely a problem.
Collect free from our Rocklea distribution warehouse by appointment. The carton is compact enough for a hatchback boot or a back seat. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID. For full terms, see our Pickup & Delivery Terms.
Change-of-mind returns are accepted under our Return Policy; full conditions apply.

FAQ
Common questions
Down to 45 cm, and up to 55 cm, adjustable anywhere in between with the gas lift lever under the seat. Australian desks are usually 72β75 cm and you want 25β30 cm between the top of the seat and the underside of the desk β so at 45 cm you get 27 cm under a 72 cm desk and 30 cm under a 75 cm one, right in the middle of the band at both ends.
Better than most. The 45 cm minimum suits most adults from around 165 cm tall, which is two centimetres lower than our Casino and the reason we recommend the Cloud for shorter users. If you're shorter still, the Clontarf Fabric Office Chair drops to 43 cm, or a footrest solves it. Best of all, come and sit in both at one of our showrooms.
The armrests sit 65 cm off the floor with the seat all the way down, so they clear the underside of most 72β75 cm desks. If your desk has a deep apron or a pull-out keyboard tray, flip the armrests up against the backrest and the chair rolls straight under. Do check floor space though β at 70 cm deep the Cloud is the deepest chair in our office range, so allow about 70 cm behind the desk edge.
No β and we'd rather be straight about that. The lumbar curve is shaped into the backrest itself, so it supports the small of your back without anything to set up, but it isn't a pad you can move or dial in. If you need adjustable lumbar support specifically, none of our current office chairs have it and we'd rather tell you now than have you find out at home.
Five things: the seat height (45β55 cm on the gas lift), the headrest, the backrest (reclining tilt), the tilt tension (a dial under the seat sets how much resistance the backrest gives), and the armrests (flip up against the backrest). The lumbar curve is fixed, and there's no sliding seat depth.
A rated weight capacity isn't printed on our supplier's paperwork, so we won't quote a number we can't stand behind. If it's a deciding factor for your order, call our showroom team on 07 3161 5415 and we'll check a floor piece before you buy.
Vacuum the weave regularly with a soft brush attachment, and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth rather than rubbing them in. Let it air-dry. Avoid bleach, solvents and abrasive scourers. The white frame and base show marks more than a black one would β a wipe with a damp cloth every few weeks keeps them looking new.
Yes. It ships flat-packed in one carton with the tools included. The seat, back and headrest arrive made up and you fit the base, castors, gas lift and armrests. It's a straightforward build with no special tools needed. If you'd rather skip it, tick the assembly option above and our team will build it on delivery for $30 per chair.
Very close. Both are full-mesh with an adjustable headrest, flip-up armrests, a reclining tilt and a tilt-tension dial. Two differences: the Cloud's seat drops 2 cm lower to 45 cm, and its backrest has a shaped lumbar curve. The Casino is $20 less at $179. If you're on the shorter side or you want the lumbar shaping, choose the Cloud; otherwise the Casino does the same job for less.
Full details
Cloud Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair β full product details
The Cloud Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair is a full-mesh swivel task chair for a home office or study desk, available in black or grey mesh, both on a white nylon frame. The seat adjusts from 45 to 55 cm on a gas lift, the seat pan measures 52 Γ 50 cm, and the chair occupies a 64 Γ 70 cm footprint with an overall height of 115β125 cm including the headrest. It carries a 1-year warranty and is $199.
Both the backrest and the seat are woven mesh, chosen for airflow β warm air passes through the weave instead of building up against you the way it does on solid foam upholstery. The backrest is shaped with a lumbar curve that supports the small of the back; it is a fixed contour built into the frame, not an adjustable pad. Five things adjust: the seat height, the headrest, the reclining backrest, the tilt tension (a dial under the seat sets the backrest's resistance), and the flip-up armrests, which fold against the backrest so the chair rolls fully under a desk. There is no sliding seat depth.
On desk fit: Australian desks run 72β75 cm high and you want 25β30 cm between the top of the seat and the underside of the desk, so the Cloud's 45 cm minimum gives 27 cm under a 72 cm desk and 30 cm under a 75 cm one β mid-band at both ends. The armrests sit 65 cm off the floor at the lowest seat setting, clearing most desks, and flipping them up solves a deep apron or keyboard tray. A 45 cm minimum seat suits most adults from around 165 cm tall, two centimetres lower than the Casino Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair; shorter users should look at the Clontarf Fabric Office Chair, which drops to 43 cm. At 70 cm deep it is the deepest chair in our office range, so measure the floor space behind your desk.
The chair ships flat-packed in one carton with the tools included, or you can add in-home assembly for $30 per chair and our team will build it on delivery. A rated weight capacity and carton dimensions aren't printed on our supplier's paperwork, so we don't publish them β call our showroom team on 07 3161 5415 if either matters for your order. Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different. Because comfort can't be judged from a photo, we recommend sitting in it first: browse all office chairs or all home office furniture, then see it in person at any of our five A2Z Furniture showrooms β Rocklea, Virginia, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich and Beenleigh.
