Overview
The matching chair for the Homestead Dining Table
The Homestead Dining Chair is the seat built to go with the Homestead Dining Table — the same solid acacia wood frame in a soft white painted finish, with a simple three-slat ladder back and a generously padded soft grey fabric seat. The chair sits at a 45 cm seat height, right in the middle of the standard 43–48 cm band, and works out to a comfortable fit under the Homestead table's slightly taller 78 cm top (see the calculation in "Will it fit?" below). At $179 a chair it's priced to buy a full set, and it arrives needing no tools to finish assembling.
Ladder-Back Design
Three horizontal slats across the back give the chair a classic farmhouse silhouette — clean, timeless and unfussy, and it sits comfortably alongside the rest of the Homestead range without competing for attention.
Solid Acacia Frame
Built from solid acacia — a genuine hardwood, not board or veneer — and painted in the same soft white finish as the rest of the Homestead range for a coordinated dining-room look.
Padded Grey Fabric Seat
A generously padded seat upholstered in soft grey fabric with a subtle texture adds real comfort through longer meals — the neutral tone pairs easily with the white frame and any table linen.
Tapered Legs & Stretcher
Square tapered legs with a side stretcher between front and back add structural strength for daily use, in the same clean architectural lines as the rest of the Homestead range.
Will it fit?
Will it fit your table — and how many do you need?
A dining chair is bought blind more often than any other seat — most stores don't even publish the seat height. Two checks settle it: whether the seat height suits your table, and how many chairs your table can actually take. Here's how the Homestead's 50 × 45 cm footprint and 45 cm seat height measure up, including the exact numbers for its own matching table.
- Built for the Homestead table specifically. The Homestead Dining Table stands 78 cm tall — 2 cm above the usual 71–76 cm Australian norm, which is why that table's own page tells buyers to check their chair's seat height. Do the maths: 78 cm table minus this chair's 45 cm seat height leaves 33 cm of knee clearance, comfortably above the recommended 25–30 cm. This isn't a guess — it's a genuine, calculated match, and the reason this chair is the one we recommend for that table.
- Still works under a standard table too. Under a standard 71–76 cm table, the 45 cm seat gives 26–31 cm of knee room — squarely in the recommended band either way.
- Count 60 cm of table edge per chair. At 50 cm wide the Homestead chair fits standard spacing: a 150 cm table takes four to six, and the matching 190 cm Homestead Dining Table takes six comfortably. Buying for the full table? You need six chairs — set the quantity above.
- Depth check for tight rooms. The chair is 45 cm deep, so pulled out for seating it needs roughly 90 cm of clear floor behind the table edge — the same clearance rule as the table itself.

Styling
What it pairs with
The obvious pairing is the matching Homestead Dining Table — six chairs around the 190 cm table gives you a fully coordinated set, with the 45 cm seat height calculated to give 33 cm of knee clearance under that table's slightly taller 78 cm top. It's also sold together as the Homestead 7 Piece Dining Set if you'd rather buy table and chairs in one purchase. The white frame and soft grey fabric seat are deliberately neutral, so a pair also works as accent chairs at a Homestead Console Table breakfast nook, or anywhere else in the range.

Acacia is a natural material — each piece shows slight differences in grain pattern and tone under the paint, which is part of its character rather than a defect. The same solid acacia and white finish runs across the whole Homestead range, so pieces bought at different times still match. Swatch colours on screen are approximate; we recommend seeing the finishes in a showroom before you buy.
Caring for your chairs
Vacuum the fabric seat
Run the upholstery brush over the fabric seat regularly to lift crumbs, dust and pet hair before they work into the weave.
Spot-clean spills
Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — don't rub. For stubborn marks, a little mild fabric cleaner on a damp cloth, worked from the outside of the stain inward, usually does it.
Wipe the white frame
A soft, slightly damp cloth handles the painted acacia frame day to day; for scuffs, a little mild soap on a damp cloth. Skip abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals.
Keep out of direct sun
Strong direct sunlight fades fabric and yellows white paint over time. Position away from harsh sun, or close curtains during the brightest hours.

Two ways to get them home
Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. FAQ
Common questions
Yes — this chair is the calculated match for it. The Homestead Dining Table stands 78 cm tall, 2 cm above the usual 71–76 cm norm. This chair's 45 cm seat height leaves 78 − 45 = 33 cm of knee clearance, comfortably above the recommended 25–30 cm band. Under a standard 71–76 cm table it works just as well, giving 26–31 cm of clearance.
One chair. Set the quantity to match your table — six for the Homestead Dining Table. Ordering singles also means you can replace or add a chair later without buying a whole set.
No — no tools are required. Unpack it and it's ready to use, unlike the flat-packed Homestead Dining Table which needs an electric drill.
A generously padded seat upholstered in soft grey fabric with a subtle texture, on a solid acacia wood frame painted soft white. There's no PU or leather on this chair — it's fabric only.
Vacuum the fabric seat regularly with the upholstery brush and blot spills immediately with a dry cloth rather than rubbing. A soft, slightly damp cloth handles the painted white frame — skip harsh chemicals and abrasive scourers on both. Keep the chair out of strong direct sunlight.
A rated weight capacity isn't on our supplier spec sheet, so we won't quote a number we can't stand behind. The frame is solid acacia and it's built for everyday family dining. If capacity is a deciding factor for you, call us on 07 3161 5415 and we'll help before you order.
Yes — the Homestead range also includes the matching Dining Table, 7 Piece Dining Set, Console Table, Coffee Table, TV Unit and Study Desk, all in the same solid acacia with the white finish. See "Complete the look" above.
Full details
Homestead Dining Chair — full product details
The Homestead Dining Chair is a rustic farmhouse dining chair built from solid acacia wood, painted in the same soft white finish as the rest of the Homestead range, with a generously padded seat upholstered in soft grey fabric. It measures 50 cm wide, 45 cm deep and 96 cm tall with a 45 cm seat height, and features a simple three-slat ladder back on square tapered legs joined by a side stretcher.
The 45 cm seat height sits dead centre in the recommended 43–48 cm band. It's a deliberate match for the matching Homestead Dining Table, which stands 78 cm tall — 2 cm above the common 71–76 cm norm. The maths: 78 cm minus this chair's 45 cm seat height leaves 33 cm of knee clearance, comfortably above the recommended 25–30 cm target, so the pairing works even though the table runs a little taller than average. Under a standard 71–76 cm table it still gives 26–31 cm of clearance. At 50 cm wide it fits the standard 60 cm of table edge per diner — six chairs around the 190 cm Homestead table.
Each chair ships in a single 48 × 57 × 97 cm carton and needs no tools to finish — unlike the flat-packed table, there's no assembly step. It carries a 1-year warranty. Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different — we highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase. Pair it with the Homestead Dining Table, or buy both together as the Homestead 7 Piece Dining Set. It is part of the wider Homestead range alongside the Homestead Console Table, Homestead Coffee Table, Homestead TV Unit and Homestead Study Desk, all in the same solid acacia with the white finish. See it in person at any of our five A2Z Furniture showrooms: Rocklea, Virginia, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich and Beenleigh.
