Overview

A farmhouse console that anchors the entryway

The Homestead Console Table is a rustic farmhouse console built from solid acacia wood — a genuine hardwood, not board or veneer. The frame is painted a soft white, while the top and drawer fronts wear a weathered driftwood-style finish, with layered brown, grey and whitewashed tones blending into the visible grain. Two drawers with black metal bar handles keep keys, mail and sunglasses out of sight, and the long open shelf below takes woven baskets, stacked books or folded throws. It arrives fully assembled — unbox it, place it, style it.

Solid Acacia Wood

Built from solid acacia — a hardwood with rich natural grain and serious longevity. Heavier and more durable than MDF or veneer, with the patina timber develops over years of use. Each piece varies slightly in grain and tone; that's the material, not a flaw.

Two Drawers & Open Shelf

Two drawers with black metal bar handles for keys, mail, sunglasses and chargers. The long open shelf below is wide enough for woven baskets, stacked books, folded throws — or the shoes that would otherwise pile up at the door.

Slim, Hallway-Friendly Format

A narrow depth designed to sit against a wall in a hallway, entryway or behind a sofa — wide enough for a lamp, a vase and a stack of books, slim enough to keep the walkway clear.

Arrives Fully Assembled

No flat-pack, no tools, no allen keys. The Homestead Console arrives built — carry it in, set it against the wall and it's done.

Sizing guide

Will it fit your hallway?

Console tables live in walkways, so fit matters more than it does for most furniture. Four quick checks before you buy any console — and how the Homestead's slim format handles them.

Console table sizing guide: keep at least 90 cm of clear walkway past the console, start the console beyond the front door's swing arc, span about two-thirds of the wall with 20 to 30 cm breathing room each side, and behind a sofa keep the top level with or slightly below the backrest.
  • Keep 90 cm of clear walkway. Measure your hall's width and subtract the console's depth — you want at least 90 cm of clear passage left so the hallway still walks like a hallway.
  • The front-door test. Open your front door fully and mark where the handle's swing arc ends — the console should start beyond that point so the door never clips it.
  • Two-thirds of the wall. A console looks right at about two-thirds to three-quarters of its wall span, with 20–30 cm of breathing room at each end.
  • Behind a sofa, match the back. Used as a sofa table, the top should sit level with or slightly below the sofa's backrest.

The Homestead's fit: its slim, hallway-friendly depth is designed to sit flat against a wall without pinching the walkway — in an entryway under a mirror, along a wide hallway, behind a sofa as a styling surface, or in a dining room as a small server. Storage

Two drawers up top, a working shelf below

An entryway console earns its keep by swallowing the small chaos of coming and going. The Homestead gives you two drawers with black metal bar handles for keys, mail, wallets, sunglasses and chargers — and a long open shelf below sized for woven baskets, stacked books, folded throws or seasonal display. Baskets on the shelf make honest shoe storage that still looks styled.

Styling

Style your entryway in three moves

The easiest console styling formula is the rule of three: one tall piece (a lamp or a vase of branches), one low, wide piece (a bowl or tray — which also becomes the landing spot for keys and wallets), and one personal touch (a framed photo, a candle, a found object). The Homestead's white-and-driftwood palette suits coastal-farmhouse styling: woven baskets on the shelf, a round black-framed mirror above, jute underfoot, greenery in terracotta.

Materials & care

Solid acacia, white frame, driftwood finish

Construction
Solid acacia wood — a genuine hardwood, not MDF or veneer
Frame
Soft white painted finish
Top & drawer fronts
Weathered driftwood-style finish — layered brown, grey and whitewash over visible grain
Handles
Black metal bar

Acacia is a natural material — each piece shows slight differences in grain pattern and tone, which is part of its character rather than a defect. The same solid acacia, white frame and driftwood-finish panels run across the whole Homestead range, so pieces bought at different times still match.

Caring for your console

🧹

Dust the timber

Wipe the driftwood top and drawer fronts weekly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. The textured weathered finish forgives marks better than a flat finish, but regular dusting keeps the grain at its best.

🧽

Wipe the white frame

A soft, slightly damp cloth handles the painted frame; for scuffs, a little mild soap on a damp cloth. Skip abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals.

🌸

Trays under vases

Use trays or coasters under vases, pots and anything wet — solid timber tops can mark from water rings if liquid is left to soak in.

☀️

Keep out of direct sun

Strong direct sunlight fades timber finishes and yellows white paint over time. Place away from harsh sun, or close curtains during the brightest hours.

FAQ

Common questions

Yes — the Homestead Console is built from solid acacia, a genuine hardwood, not MDF, particle board or veneer. Acacia takes a distressed finish without losing structural integrity, which is exactly what the weathered driftwood-style top and drawer fronts are. Because it's a natural timber, grain and tone vary slightly piece to piece.

No — it arrives fully assembled. There's no flat-pack, no tools and no fittings bag; carry it in and place it. The only job we do recommend is anchoring it to the wall with an anchor device, especially in homes with young children.

The Homestead uses a slim, hallway-friendly depth designed to leave the walkway clear. Two quick checks: after subtracting the console's depth you want about 90 cm of clear passage left, and the console should start beyond your front door's swing arc. Exact dimensions are being confirmed — call us on 07 3161 5415 and we'll measure a floor piece for your space.

Yes — a console behind a sofa works as a landing surface for lamps, books and drinks trays. The rule of thumb: the console top should sit level with or slightly below the sofa's backrest. The Homestead's slim depth suits this use well; check the height against your sofa back before ordering.

The two drawers suit keys, mail, wallets, sunglasses, chargers and notepads — the small things that otherwise live on the tabletop. The long open shelf below takes woven baskets (great for shoes at the door), stacked books, folded throws or display pieces. Internal measurements are available from our showroom team.

Yes — the console is sold on its own, but the Homestead range also includes the matching Coffee Table, TV Unit, Study Desk, Dining Table, Dining Chair and 7 Piece Dining Set, all in the same solid acacia with the white frame and driftwood-finish panels. See "Complete the look" above.

Homestead Console Table — full product details

As a hall table or entryway table, the Homestead's slim depth sits flat against the wall without crowding the walkway — under a round mirror in an entry, along a wide hallway, behind a sofa as a sofa table, or in a dining room as a small server. The white-and-driftwood colour story pairs naturally with coastal-farmhouse interiors: white-painted shiplap, jute or sisal rugs, woven baskets, terracotta pots and natural linen.

Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different — we highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase. The console is part of the wider Homestead range alongside the matching Homestead TV Unit, Homestead Coffee Table, Homestead Study Desk, Homestead Dining Table and Homestead Dining Chair — all in the same solid acacia with the white frame and driftwood-finish panels.
