Overview

A 210 cm Modern Farmhouse TV unit with a driftwood finish

The Homestead TV Unit is built around its signature distressed, weathered driftwood-style finish — layered brown, grey and whitewashed tones blended across the cabinet doors, drawer front and top surface so the visible acacia grain reads as reclaimed, sun-bleached timber rather than a flat factory stain. That rustic panelling sits inside a soft white painted frame, a deliberate contrast that keeps the piece from feeling heavy despite its size. At 210 cm long the Homestead is built for larger living rooms and family homes, with plenty of styling surface for a wall-mounted television, and black metal bar handles on the doors and drawer add a clean, utilitarian accent against all that rustic timber texture.

Distressed driftwood finish

Layered brown, grey and whitewashed tones over solid acacia grain give the doors, drawer front and top a weathered, reclaimed-timber look that's the headline feature of the Homestead range.

Doors, drawer & open shelf

Two end cabinet doors hide soundbars, consoles and routers, a centre drawer takes remotes and cables, and the open shelf above it keeps a media player or set-top box in reach of the remote.

Black metal bar handles

Clean, utilitarian black bar handles on the doors and drawer add a deliberate contrast against the rustic distressed timber — simple hardware that doesn't compete with the finish.

A substantial 2.1 m silhouette

At 210 cm long and 63 cm high, this is the tallest TV unit built in the range so far — a taller, more substantial stand suited to larger living rooms and family homes, not a lowline piece.

Will your TV fit?

Sizing your television to a 210 cm unit

The usual guidance is to leave around 20 cm of unit wider than the television — roughly 10 cm each side — so the screen looks balanced and the feet or pedestal sit safely on the top rather than near the edge. On a 210 cm unit that puts the comfortable ceiling at about an 80″ screen.

TV unit sizing guide: keep about 10cm of stand showing on each side of the television for roughly 20cm total clearance, remember screen size is measured diagonally not by width, and check the top load rating as well as the screen size — whichever limit is lower applies.

The Homestead’s fit: at 210 cm wide, comfortably suits a TV up to 80″, rated to approximately 30 kg as a conservative guideline.

Recommended maximum
A television up to 80″
Top surface
210 cm wide × 45 cm deep
Weight guideline
Up to approx. 30 kg on the top
Height to screen
Top sits 63 cm off the floor

These are guidelines, not tested specifications. A larger screen can still work if it is lighter than the weight guideline and its feet or pedestal sit fully within the 210 × 45 cm top — measure the distance between your television’s feet before ordering, as this varies a lot between brands. Whichever limit is lower is the one that applies, and a wall-mounted television — which suits this unit's generous styling surface well — removes the question entirely. Always secure your television with an anchor device.

Check the TV unit’s own footprint too, not just the width. Check the leg spacing and overall footprint of this unit against your television’s own specification sheet before ordering, especially if your television has an unusually wide or off-centre pedestal stand. Not sure? Call us on 07 3161 5415, or read our TV unit size guide.

Storage layout

Two cabinet doors, a centre drawer and an open shelf

The layout is split three ways across the 210 cm width. A cabinet door at each end takes the things you would rather not look at — soundbars, gaming consoles, routers and spare cables — each opened with a black metal bar handle. The centre drawer sits at a natural height for remotes, chargers and small items. Above it, the open shelf leaves a media player or set-top box on show and in reach of the remote, which matters for anything that needs a clear infrared line or a bit of airflow.

Internal measurements, drawer runner type and shelf weight capacities are not published on the specification sheet for this model — we have not estimated them here. If you need a specific device or console to fit, call 07 3161 5415 and our showroom team will measure the actual unit.

Safety

Anchor the television — it matters

Entertainment units are covered by Australia’s mandatory toppling-furniture information standard at any height, because a television is heavy, top-sitting and tempting for a child to pull on. Anchoring hardware is inexpensive, sold at any hardware store, and takes only minutes to fit.

Caring for your driftwood-finish acacia TV unit

🧹

Dust the timber panels

A soft, dry microfibre cloth weekly on the distressed top, doors and drawer front is usually enough. The textured weathered finish is more forgiving of small marks than a flat finish, but it still needs regular dusting.

💧

Wipe the white frame

Use a soft, slightly damp cloth on the white painted frame, with a little mild soap for marks or scuffs. Avoid abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals, which can dull or scratch the paint.

Use coasters & mats

Stand cups and heavy items on a mat on the timber top — solid timber can mark from heat and water rings.

☀️

Keep out of direct sun

Prolonged direct sunlight will fade the timber finish and yellow the white paint over time — position the unit away from harsh, direct sun where possible.

FAQ

Common questions

As a guideline, a television up to 80″. The unit is 210 cm wide and the usual advice is to leave about 20 cm more unit than television, so the screen looks balanced and the feet sit safely within the top. Remember that screen size is measured diagonally, not by width. A larger screen can still work if it is lighter than the 30 kg weight guideline and its feet sit fully within the 210 × 45 cm surface — measure the span between your television’s feet first, as it varies a lot by brand, and check it against this unit’s own footprint too. These are guidelines rather than tested specifications.

Yes — the table top and base are genuine solid acacia wood, finished with a distressed driftwood-style effect in layered brown, grey and whitewashed tones. That means real grain and natural knots that vary from piece to piece, set inside a soft white painted frame.

Yes — it arrives flat-packed in one carton and needs some assembly. A screwdriver is required, and an electric drill is recommended to make it quicker. Instructions and fixings are in the box. We do not currently offer a paid assembly add-on service for this product.

Your television does. Entertainment units of any height are covered by Australia’s mandatory toppling-furniture information standard: children have died from furniture tipover, so always secure your television with an anchor device, and never allow children to stand, climb or hang on drawers, doors or shelves. Anchor kits are inexpensive and sold at any hardware store — our showroom team can point you to a suitable one.

Dust the timber panels weekly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth — the textured weathered finish is more forgiving of marks than a flat finish, but still needs regular care. Wipe the white frame with a soft, slightly damp cloth (mild soap for marks), use coasters and mats on the timber top, and keep the unit out of direct sun, which fades the timber and yellows the white paint over time. You can add our Guardsman Wood Care Kit in the buy box above.

The specification sheet for this model does not list internal cabinet, drawer or shelf measurements, and we would rather not estimate them. If a particular soundbar, console or set-top box has to fit, call us on 07 3161 5415 and our showroom team will measure the actual unit for you.

Yes. The Homestead range shares the same driftwood-finish panels and white painted frame across the Coffee Table, Console Table, Study Desk, Dining Table and Dining Chair — see “Complete the set” above.

Full details

Homestead TV Unit — full product details

Design & materials

The Homestead TV Unit is a Modern Farmhouse entertainment unit measuring 210 cm long, 45 cm deep and 63 cm high, built from solid acacia wood, top and base. Its signature feature is a distressed, weathered driftwood-style finish — layered brown, grey and whitewashed tones blended across the cabinet doors, drawer front and top surface, letting the natural acacia grain show through as reclaimed, sun-bleached timber rather than a flat factory stain.

That rustic panelling sits inside a soft white painted frame, a deliberate contrast that keeps the piece feeling light despite its size, finished off with clean black metal bar handles on the doors and drawer for a utilitarian accent against all that texture. Storage is split three ways across the width: a hinged cabinet door at each end for soundbars, gaming consoles, routers and spare cables, a centre drawer for remotes and small items, and an open shelf above the drawer for a media player or set-top box that needs to stay in reach of a remote.

TV fit & safety

At 210 cm wide the Homestead comfortably carries a television up to 80″ as a guideline, leaving roughly 10 cm of clearance at each end so the screen looks balanced on the top rather than overhanging it, and the top is rated to approximately 30 kg. Both figures are guidelines rather than tested specifications, and whichever is the lower limit is the one to work to — measure the span between your television’s feet before ordering, since pedestal and foot spacing varies widely between brands.

At 63 cm high, this is the tallest TV unit built in the range so far — a taller, substantial silhouette suited to larger living rooms and family homes, with plenty of styling surface for a wall-mounted television. Entertainment units of any height fall under Australia’s mandatory toppling-furniture information standard, so always secure your television with an anchor device.

Style & care

The white-and-driftwood pairing gives the Homestead range a warm, lived-in country-style feel that suits rustic farmhouse interiors — think linen sofas in cream, oatmeal or sand, jute and sisal rugs, woven baskets, indoor plants, whitewashed shiplap or vertical-board walls and timber floors. Depending on how it's styled, the same finish also reads as coastal-driftwood or modern-country reclaimed-barn-timber.

As solid timber, the acacia benefits from a little care: dust the distressed panels weekly with a soft dry microfibre cloth, wipe the white frame with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap for marks, use coasters and mats on the timber top, and keep the unit out of direct sun, which fades the timber finish and yellows the white paint over time. A Guardsman Wood Care Kit can be added in the cart to help protect the finish.

Build & range

The Homestead TV Unit arrives flat-packed in a single carton measuring 215 × 50 × 70 cm; assembly needs a screwdriver, with an electric drill recommended, and we do not currently offer a paid assembly add-on for this product. Images are for illustration only and, as solid timber with a hand-finished driftwood effect, the actual grain, tone and distressing will vary from piece to piece — we highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase.
