Overview

Two sizes, three finishes, one honest build

The Dell Dining Table is the most straightforward table we sell: a clean rectangular top on square corner legs, with a hardwood frame carrying an MDF top. Nothing about it is trying to be more than it is — and that's why it works in a first apartment, a rental, a study or a second dining space. Pick the 110 × 70 cm four-seater for a compact room, or the 150 × 90 cm six-seater when you need the extra places, then choose black, brown or dirty oak to suit the room.

Two Genuinely Different Sizes

The 4 Seater is 110 × 70 cm — a true small-space table that seats four without crowding. The 6 Seater is 150 × 90 cm, which seats four comfortably down the sides and six once the ends are used. They aren't the same table with a different label; the footprints are properly different.

Black, Brown or Dirty Oak

Black is contemporary and high-contrast. Brown is a warm reddish, mahogany-leaning tone. Dirty oak is a greyed, aged-timber brown that suits pale rooms and natural textures. Same table, three quite different rooms.

Hardwood Frame, MDF Top

The frame and legs are hardwood, which is where a dining table takes its load; the top is MDF, which stays flat and resists the warping a cheap solid panel can develop. We'd rather name the materials than call it “wood” and leave you guessing.

Pairs With Almost Any Chair

No apron detailing and no ornament, so it doesn't fight whatever chairs you already own. That makes it an easy replacement table when the chairs are staying put.

Seats & space

How many it seats, and the room it needs

A dining table is the one piece people most often buy too big for the room — and the Dell comes in two sizes precisely so you don't have to. Three checks settle it: how many it really seats, how much floor it needs, and whether your chairs fit underneath.

Dining table sizing guide: allow 60 cm of table edge per person, leave at least 90 cm of clear floor on every side, pair a 71 to 78 cm high table with chairs of 45 to 48 cm seat height for 25 to 30 cm of knee room, and a table-length-to-seats ready reckoner from 120 cm seating four up to 270 cm seating ten.
4 or 6The 110 cm seats four. The 150 cm seats four down the sides, six using the ends.
2.9 × 2.5 mMinimum room for the 4 Seater; allow 3.3 × 2.7 m for the 6 Seater.
76 cmTable height on both sizes — right at the top of the standard 71–76 cm range.
  • Allow 60 cm of table edge per person. The 110 cm four-seater works as one setting a side plus one at each end — four, properly. The 150 cm six-seater gives two settings a side, so four comfortably, or six once you use the ends.
  • Leave 90 cm clear on every side. That's the Australian standard for pulling a chair out and walking behind it. Add 180 cm to each of the table's dimensions: about 2.9 m × 2.5 m of room for the 4 Seater, or 3.3 m × 2.7 m for the 6 Seater. If the table sits near a kitchen walkway, allow 105–120 cm of clearance instead.
  • Check your chair seat height. Both sizes stand 76 cm high, at the top of the standard 71–76 cm band, so most dining chairs suit them. A 45–48 cm seat height gives comfortable knee room.
  • Measure the doorway, not just the room. It ships flat, so getting it in is straightforward — but once built it won't turn a tight corner. Build it in the room it's staying in.

Stuck between the two sizes? Mark both footprints on your floor with masking tape — 110 × 70 cm and 150 × 90 cm — and sit a chair at each before you order. Or call our showroom team on 07 3161 5415 and we'll talk it through against your room measurements.

Styling

Chairs, and what goes on top

The Dell is deliberately plain, so the chairs set the tone. The Darwin, Dexter and Daybreak chairs all pair cleanly with it, and because there's no apron detailing you can mix and match without it looking accidental. In black, modern chairs suit it — moulded seats, black metal, mid-century timber legs. In brown or dirty oak, natural textures work better: rattan, bentwood, or an oatmeal upholstered seat. On the 4 Seater especially, keep the centre light — one low bowl rather than a tall centrepiece.

Caring for your table

🍽️

Use placemats & coasters

Hot dishes and wet glasses are the main risk to an MDF top. Placemats, coasters and a trivet under anything straight off the stove are the single best thing you can do for it.

💧

Don't leave spills sitting

Wipe liquid up promptly rather than letting it sit. Water that soaks into an engineered top at a join or an edge can cause swelling that won't come back out.

🧹

Wipe with a damp cloth

A soft, barely damp microfibre cloth after meals is enough. Avoid soaking the surface, and skip abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals.

☀️

Keep out of direct sun

Strong direct sunlight fades finishes over time — on black, brown and dirty oak alike. Place away from harsh sun, or close curtains during the brightest hours.

What's in the box

Flat-packed, drill required

The Dell Dining Table ships flat-packed — the top with the legs and fittings packed alongside. Assembly is straightforward but it does need an electric drill; a screwdriver alone won't do it. If you'd rather not, add assembly to your order above and our team will build it in your home on delivery.

Dell Dining Table — table top, legs, fittings
Assembly
Required — electric drill needed (assembly add-on available)
Chairs
Not included — sold separately

The price is for the dining table alone — chairs and styling props are not included. Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different. We highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase.

Delivery & pickup

Two ways to get it home

Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. The table travels flat-packed, so doorways and stairs are rarely a problem; add assembly above if you'd like it built in the room on delivery.

Collect free from our Rocklea distribution warehouse by appointment. The carton is flat, and the 4 Seater in particular fits most cars with the seats folded. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID. For full terms, see our Pickup & Delivery Terms.

Change-of-mind returns are accepted under our Return Policy; full conditions apply.

FAQ

Common questions

Size, and a real difference at that. The 4 Seater is 110 × 70 cm and seats four. The 6 Seater is 150 × 90 cm, which seats four comfortably down the sides and six once you put a chair at each end. Both stand 76 cm high and share the same finishes.

About 2.9 m × 2.5 m for the 4 Seater and 3.3 m × 2.7 m for the 6 Seater. The rule is 90 cm of clear space on every side so chairs can be pulled out and people can walk past — add 180 cm to each of the table's dimensions.

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. The frame and legs are hardwood; the top is MDF with a wood-look finish. That keeps the top flat and warp-resistant at this price, but it isn't solid timber. If you want a solid timber top, look at the Jayden or Jericho dining tables instead.

Yes. It arrives flat-packed and needs an electric drill to build — a screwdriver on its own isn't enough. If you'd rather not, add table assembly to your order and our team will build it in your home on delivery.

Almost certainly. Both sizes stand 76 cm high, at the top of the standard 71–76 cm band, so any dining chair with a seat height of about 45–48 cm will give comfortable knee room.

Screen and swatch colours are approximate. Black is a true contemporary black, brown is a warm reddish mahogany-style tone, and dirty oak is a greyed aged-timber brown. For an accurate match, see the Dell in person at any of our showrooms.

No — the price is for the table alone. Dining chairs are sold separately.

Full details

Dell Dining Table — full product details

The Dell Dining Table is a modern minimalist dining table available in two sizes and three finishes: a 110 × 70 × 76 cm four-seater and a 150 × 90 × 76 cm six-seater, in black, brown or dirty oak. The frame and legs are hardwood and the top is MDF with a wood-look finish — a combination that keeps the top flat and resistant to warping. The design is deliberately plain: a clean rectangular top on square corner legs, with no apron detailing to fight whatever chairs you already own.

At the Australian standard of 60 cm of table edge per person, the 110 cm four-seater seats four and the 150 cm six-seater seats four down the sides or six once the ends are used. Allow at least 90 cm of clear floor on every side so chairs can be pulled out and people can walk behind them: roughly 2.9 m × 2.5 m of room for the 4 Seater, or 3.3 m × 2.7 m for the 6 Seater. Both stand 76 cm high, at the top of the standard 71–76 cm band, so most dining chairs pair with them without trouble.

The table ships flat-packed and requires an electric drill to assemble — in-home assembly can be added to your order. It carries a 1-year warranty. Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different — we highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase. Pair it with the Darwin, Dexter or Daybreak chairs, or step up to the Dell II Dining Table at 160 × 80 cm. See it in person at any of our five A2Z Furniture showrooms: Rocklea, Virginia, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich and Beenleigh.
