Dust regularly
Use a soft, dry cloth on the timber and a soft brush for the fluted fronts; wipe the gold handles gently too.
Avoid wet cloths
Skip soaking-wet cloths and harsh cleaners; a barely-damp cloth, dried straight after, is far kinder to the finish.
Use coasters
Stand cups, glasses and lamps on coasters or mats to guard the surface against rings and heat marks.
