Console tables live in walkways, so fit matters more than it does for most furniture. Four quick checks before you buy — and how the Jericho's 125 × 38 cm footprint measures up.
- Keep 90 cm of clear walkway. Measure your hall's width and subtract the console's 38 cm depth — you want at least 90 cm of clear passage left.
- The front-door test. Open your front door fully and mark where the handle's swing arc ends — the console should start beyond that point.
- Two-thirds of the wall. At 125 cm long, the Jericho looks right on a wall of roughly 1.7 to 1.9 metres, with 20–30 cm of breathing room each end.
- Behind a sofa, match the back. At 81 cm high, it suits mid-to-high-backed sofas where the top sits level with or just below the backrest.
The Jericho's fit: at 81 cm high it sits squarely in the 75–90 cm console band. Its 38 cm depth is at the fuller end of the console range — comfortable in a hallway around 130 cm or wider, an entryway with room to move, behind a sofa, or in a dining room as a small server. Acacia is a natural material — each piece shows slight differences in grain pattern and tone, which is part of its character rather than a defect. The same solid acacia and off-white-and-natural-timber colour scheme runs across the whole Jericho range, so pieces bought at different times still match.
Caring for your console
Dust the timber top
Wipe the natural acacia top weekly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, in the direction of the grain. For deeper cleaning, a barely damp cloth — dried off immediately — works well.
Wipe the painted body
A soft, slightly damp cloth handles the off-white body; for scuffs, a little mild soap on a damp cloth. Skip abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals.
Trays under vases
Use trays or coasters under vases, pots and anything wet — solid timber tops can mark from water rings if liquid is left to soak in.
Keep out of direct sun
Strong direct sunlight fades timber finishes and yellows white paint over time. Place away from harsh sun, or close curtains during the brightest hours.
