The Douglas TV Unit brings the sculptural chrome legwork of the wider Douglas range to a low, long entertainment unit. Tight bundles of slim polished chrome rods anchor each end of the frame, supporting a full-length white tempered glass top with an open display shelf and two white-gloss drawers below. At 200 cm wide it suits living rooms and media spaces where a low-line unit sits below a wall-mounted television or houses a freestanding screen.

Sizing your television to a 200 cm unit
The usual guidance is to leave around 20 cm of unit wider than the television — roughly 10 cm each side — so the screen looks balanced and the feet or pedestal sit safely on the top rather than near the edge. On a 200 cm unit that puts the comfortable ceiling at about an 80″ screen.

A larger screen can still work if its feet or pedestal sit fully within the 200 × 40 cm top — measure the distance between your television’s feet before ordering, as this varies a lot between brands. The 40 kg guideline applies to the tempered glass top as a whole; keep heavier televisions or soundbars spread across the surface rather than concentrated at one point, and a wall-mounted television removes the question entirely. Caring for chrome, glass and gloss white
Buff the chrome frame
Buff the chrome frame with a dry microfibre cloth for fingerprints; a lightly damp cloth handles anything stickier.
Clean the glass top
Clean the glass top with a streak-free glass cleaner, or warm water with a drop of dish soap, then dry with a soft cloth.
Wipe the gloss drawers
Wipe the white-gloss drawer fronts with a soft damp cloth and dry promptly; skip abrasive sponges that can dull the gloss.
Skip abrasives
Avoid abrasive scourers, steel wool and harsh chemical solvents across all surfaces — chrome, glass and gloss alike.
