Overview
White glass on silver cluster legs
The Douglas is built around its legs. Rather than a single post at each corner, it uses a cluster of silver-chrome rods that fan out as they rise — a detail borrowed from mid-century design that gives a large table a light, almost transparent footprint. Over the top sits white tempered safety glass. At 185 × 95 cm it's a fraction more compact than most tables in this range, which makes it a better fit for a dining space that's tight on one dimension.
Silver-Chrome Cluster Legs
A cluster of chromed rods at each corner rather than a solid post. Light passes through the structure, so the table doesn't visually anchor the room the way a heavy-based one does — useful when the dining area is part of an open-plan space.
White Tempered Safety Glass
Heat-treated to be several times stronger than ordinary glass, and engineered to crumble into small blunt granules rather than sharp shards in the rare event it breaks. White glass keeps the whole piece bright.
185 × 95 cm — Slightly More Compact
About 15 cm shorter and 5 cm narrower than the 200 cm tables in this range. Still three settings a side, but it buys back real clearance in a room that's tight — which is often the difference between a table that works and one that doesn't.

Seats & space
How many it seats, and the room it needs
A dining table is the one piece people most often buy too big for the room. Three checks settle it — how many it really seats, how much floor it needs, and whether your chairs fit underneath. Here's how the Douglas's 185 × 95 × 76 cm measures up against the Australian rules of thumb.
- Allow 60 cm of table edge per person. At 185 cm long, that's 3 settings down each side — six in total. Adding a chair at each end takes it to eight. Six is the everyday number; eight works for a full table.
- Leave 90 cm clear on every side. That's the Australian standard for pulling a chair out and walking behind it. Add 180 cm to each of the table's dimensions and you get the minimum room: about 3.6 × 2.8 m. If the table sits near a kitchen walkway, aim for 105–120 cm of clearance instead — roughly 4.0 × 3.0 m.
- Check your chair seat height. The top sits at 76 cm. A dining chair with a 45–48 cm seat height gives comfortable knee room; very low or heavily padded seats will feel cramped.
- Plan the delivery path, not just the room. It ships flat-packed, so getting the cartons in is straightforward — but the glass top is heavy and once built it's 185 cm long and won't turn a tight corner. Build it in the room it's staying in.

Chairs, and what goes on top
White and silver is a cool palette that stays out of the way, so the chairs can lead. Grey, white or black upholstery keeps it monochrome and modern; timber or rattan chairs warm it up considerably; a coloured velvet chair turns the table into a plain stage. Because the legs are open and reflective, avoid a heavy floor-length tablecloth — it hides the best part of the table.

Chrome shows fingerprints and water spots but wipes clean with a soft dry cloth — avoid abrasive pads and don't leave chrome wet, which can spot over time.
Caring for your table
Clean with glass cleaner
A microfibre cloth and a standard glass cleaner keeps the top clear. Spray the cloth rather than the glass so cleaner doesn't run into the joins with the base.
Mats under hot and heavy
Tempered glass handles daily use well, but use trivets under hot dishes and coasters under drinks — thermal shock and ground-in grit are what damage a glass top over time.
Mind the edges and corners
Tempered glass is strong across its face but vulnerable at the edges. Avoid knocking the rim with hard objects, and don't drag heavy items on and off over the edge.
Wipe the base separately
The base takes a soft, barely damp cloth — not glass cleaner. Skip abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals, which dull lacquered and metal finishes.

Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. The table travels flat-packed, so doorways and stairs are rarely a problem; add assembly above if you'd like it built in the room on delivery.
