Overview

A Japandi-style TV unit in dark grey & walnut

The Zuma TV Unit is the entertainment piece in the Zuma range — a 180 cm cabinet built from MDF with a vertical fluted dark grey lacquered body and curved racetrack-style ends, topped with a warm walnut-toned wood veneer. Three cabinet doors span the front, giving generous, uninterrupted storage for AV gear, remotes and everyday clutter. Slim, solid-timber tapered legs in a natural finish lift the whole piece off the floor, keeping the Japandi aesthetic light and grounded at the same time.

Vertical Fluted Body

A vertical fluted texture runs across the dark grey lacquered body, curving smoothly into racetrack-style rounded ends for a soft, sculptural silhouette.

Walnut Veneer Top

A warm walnut-toned wood veneer top contrasts with the dark grey body, adding texture and warmth without breaking up the clean Japandi lines.

Tapered Timber Legs

Slim, solid-timber tapered legs in a natural finish lift the unit off the floor — a classic Japandi move that keeps the piece feeling light despite its length.

Three Cabinet Doors

Three full-width cabinet doors across the front give generous, uninterrupted storage for sound bars, consoles, remotes and cables, all out of sight.

Will your TV fit?

Sizing your television to a 180 cm unit

The usual guidance is to leave around 20 cm of unit wider than the television — roughly 10 cm each side — so the screen looks balanced and the feet or pedestal sit safely on the top rather than near the edge. On a 180 cm unit that puts the comfortable ceiling at about a 70″ screen.

TV unit sizing guide: keep about 10cm of stand showing on each side of the television for roughly 20cm total clearance, remember screen size is measured diagonally not by width, and check the top load rating as well as the screen size — whichever limit is lower applies.

The Zuma’s fit: at 180 cm wide, comfortably suits a TV up to 70″.

Recommended maximum
A television up to 70″
Top surface
180 cm wide × 40 cm deep
Weight guideline
Around 30 kg, as a guideline for MDF-topped units
Height to screen
Top sits 58.5 cm off the floor

This is a derived guideline, not a tested specification. A larger screen can still work if its feet or pedestal sit fully within the 180 × 40 cm top — measure the distance between your television’s feet before ordering, as this varies a lot between brands. The 30 kg top-load guideline reflects the MDF construction; keep heavier televisions or soundbars spread across the surface rather than concentrated at one point, and a wall-mounted television removes the question entirely. Always secure your television with an anchor device.

Check the TV unit’s own footprint too, not just the width. This unit sits on slim tapered legs, so check the leg spacing and overall footprint against your television’s own specification sheet before ordering, especially if your television has an unusually wide or off-centre pedestal stand. Not sure? Call us on 07 3161 5415, or read our TV unit size guide.

Storage layout

Three full-width cabinet doors

The 180 cm width opens up behind three cabinet doors that run across the entire front of the unit. That gives one long, uninterrupted storage run — enough room for a sound bar or games console on one side and remotes, cables and everyday accessories tucked away on the other, all hidden behind the fluted dark grey face.

Internal cabinet measurements and shelf weight capacities are not published on the specification sheet for this model — we have not estimated them here. If you need a specific device or console to fit, call 07 3161 5415 and our showroom team will measure the actual unit.

Safety

Anchor the television — it matters

Entertainment units are covered by Australia’s mandatory toppling-furniture information standard at any height, because a television is heavy, top-sitting and tempting for a child to pull on. Anchoring hardware is inexpensive, sold at any hardware store, and takes only minutes to fit.

Caring for a lacquered MDF finish

🧹

Dust the fluted body

Wipe the dark grey fluted body weekly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, running along the flutes rather than across them, and skip wet cloths and harsh chemical sprays.

🧭

Wipe the walnut top

Wipe the walnut-toned veneer top with a soft, dry cloth in the direction of the grain. Skip abrasive scourers, which can dull or scratch the finish.

Use coasters and mats

Stand drinks, plants and warm devices on a mat so the top is not marked by rings or heat.

☀️

Keep out of direct sun

Direct sunlight over time can fade the lacquered body and the walnut veneer top — position the unit away from windows that get strong direct sun where you can.

FAQ

Common questions

As a guideline, a television up to 70″. The unit is 180 cm wide and the usual advice is to leave about 20 cm more unit than television, so the screen looks balanced and the feet sit safely within the top. Remember that screen size is measured diagonally, not by width. Measure the span between your television’s feet first, as it varies a lot by brand, and check it against this unit’s own footprint and leg spacing too. This is a derived guideline rather than a tested specification.

As a guideline for this MDF-topped model, around 30 kg spread across the top — this is a derived guideline based on the construction, not a tested specification. Keep heavier televisions or soundbars spread across the surface rather than concentrated at one point, and always secure the television with an anchor device regardless of weight.

No dedicated cable-management cut-outs or grommets are listed on the specification sheet for this model. The three cabinet doors give you a place to route and hide cables and power boards out of sight, but there is no purpose-built cable pass-through.

Yes — it arrives flat-packed in one carton and needs assembling with a screwdriver (an electric drill is recommended) and a rubber mallet. Instructions and fixings are in the box. If you would rather not build it, you can add our assembly service in the cart above.

Your television does. Entertainment units of any height are covered by Australia’s mandatory toppling-furniture information standard: children have died from furniture tipover, so always secure your television with an anchor device, and never allow children to stand, climb or hang on the cabinet doors. Anchor kits are inexpensive and sold at any hardware store — our showroom team can point you to a suitable one.

Yes. The Zuma Sideboard and Zuma Coffee Table share the same dark grey and walnut colour story — see “Complete the set” above.

At 180 cm wide the Zuma comfortably carries a television up to 70″ as a derived guideline, leaving roughly 10 cm of clearance at each end so the screen looks balanced on the top rather than overhanging it — measure the span between your television’s feet before ordering, since pedestal and foot spacing varies widely between brands. As a guideline for this MDF-topped construction, keep top loads to around 30 kg spread across the surface. Entertainment units of any height fall under Australia’s mandatory toppling-furniture information standard, so always secure your television with an anchor device.

The Zuma TV Unit arrives flat-packed and needs assembly with a screwdriver (an electric drill is recommended) and a rubber mallet; an assembly service can be added in the cart if you would rather not build it yourself.
