Overview
Japandi fluting, scaled to a full sideboard
The Zuma Sideboard scales the range's fluted Japandi design up to a full 150 cm case piece. Vertical reeded ribs run around the entire dark grey lacquered body and across both cabinet doors, so the front reads as one continuous textured surface — no visible handles, just push-open doors. Soft racetrack-curved ends replace sharp corners, a warm teak wood veneer top adds natural grain up top, and slim solid timber tapered legs lift the dark body off the floor.
Vertical Fluted Body & Doors
The signature Zuma detail — reeded ribs wrap the whole body and continue across the doors, catching light differently through the day and giving a wall-hugging piece real depth and movement.
Two Push-Open Doors
Two full-height cabinet doors open to a generous concealed storage area — dinnerware, table linen, glassware, board games. Push-style opening keeps the fluted face uninterrupted.
Teak Veneer Top & Timber Legs
A real teak wood veneer top brings natural grain to the visible surface, and slim solid timber tapered legs in a matching natural finish balance the dark grey body with lighter visual weight at the base.
Soft Curved Ends
Rounded racetrack-style end caps soften the silhouette — easier on the eye than sharp corners, and kinder in narrow rooms where you brush past.
Sizing guide
Will it fit your space?
Consoles and sideboards live in walkways, so fit matters more than it does for most furniture. Four quick checks before you buy — and an honest read on where the Zuma's 150 × 40 cm footprint belongs.
- Keep 90 cm of clear walkway. Measure your hall's width and subtract the sideboard's 40 cm depth — you want at least 90 cm of clear passage left.
- The front-door test. Open your front door fully and mark where the handle's swing arc ends — the sideboard should start beyond that point.
- Two-thirds of the wall. At 150 cm long, the Zuma looks right on a wall of roughly 2 to 2.3 metres, with 20–30 cm of breathing room each end.
- Behind a sofa, match the back. At 84 cm high, the Zuma suits mid-to-high-backed sofas where the top sits level with or just below the backrest.
The Zuma's fit, honestly: at 40 cm deep it sits at the top of the console depth range — ideal in a hallway 130 cm or wider, an open-plan living area, or a dining room as a buffet. In a genuinely narrow hall (under about 120 cm), a slimmer console will serve you better — browse the full console range. Its 84 cm height sits comfortably in the 75–90 cm console band. The curved ends are a genuine bonus in traffic paths — no sharp corner to catch a hip on.

Storage
Generous storage behind two clean doors
Two full-height push-open doors conceal a generous storage area across the Zuma's 150 cm length — dinnerware, table linen, glassware, board games, or whatever else needs a tidy home. No visible handles means the fluted face stays uninterrupted, and the room stays visually calm while the storage does the work.
- Storage type
- 2 push-open cabinet doors — no drawers
- Door fronts
- Continuous vertical fluting, handle-free
- Shape
- Racetrack — rounded curved ends

Styling
Style it in three moves
The easiest styling formula for a long surface like this is the rule of three: one tall piece (a warm-toned lamp or a vase of branches), one low, wide piece (a stoneware bowl or tray), and one personal touch (layered art leaning against the wall, a candle). The Zuma's grey-and-teak palette pairs beautifully with green or jewel-toned velvet, boucle throws, and plants in stoneware — keep styling sparse so the fluting stays the hero.

A two-tone Japandi composition at an accessible price: the lacquered fluting and curved ends do the designer-led work, while the real teak veneer brings genuine timber grain to the surface you see and touch most. The same fluted grey body, teak accents and timber legs run across the Zuma Coffee Table and TV Unit.
Caring for your sideboard
Dust the fluting
A soft, dry microfibre cloth or soft brush weekly — the grooves catch dust more readily than flat surfaces, and a quick brush keeps the texture sharp.
Trays under vases
Use trays or coasters under vases, pots and candles — the teak veneer top is beautiful but not waterproof; water rings and condensation can damage veneer over time.
Wipe clean gently
A soft, slightly damp cloth on the lacquered body and veneer top, dried immediately. Skip abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals — both finishes dislike them.
Keep out of direct sun
Direct sunlight fades and can warp veneer and discolour lacquer over time — place away from harsh sun, or close curtains during the brightest hours.

Delivery & pickup
Two ways to get it home
Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. It ships flat-packed in one 152 × 40 × 75 cm carton, so it handles doorways and stairwells far more easily than an assembled sideboard would.
Collect free from our Rocklea distribution warehouse by appointment. The single 152 × 40 × 75 cm carton is long — a van, ute, large SUV or folded rear seats will do it. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID. For full terms, see our Pickup & Delivery Terms.
Change-of-mind returns are accepted under our Return Policy; full conditions apply.

FAQ
Common questions
The top is real teak wood veneer over an MDF panel — genuine timber grain on the surface you see and touch, at a fraction of solid-teak cost. The body is MDF in a fluted dark grey lacquer, the internals are particle board, and the tapered legs are solid timber in a natural finish. We'd rather spell that out than round up to "solid wood".
Yes — it ships flat-packed in one 152 × 40 × 75 cm carton. You'll need a screwdriver (an electric drill makes it quicker) and a rubber mallet. If you'd rather not, add our $40 assembly service in the buy box and our team will build it for you on delivery.
At 40 cm deep, the Zuma sits at the top of the console depth range — ideal in a hallway 130 cm or wider, an open-plan living area, or a dining room. After subtracting its depth you want about 90 cm of clear passage left. The rounded ends are kinder than sharp corners in traffic paths, but in a genuinely narrow hall a slimmer console will serve you better.
Push-style — press gently and the door releases. There are no visible handles, which is what keeps the vertical fluting running uninterrupted across the whole front.
The two full-height door compartments suit dinnerware stacks, table linen, glassware, board games or media gear. There are no drawers — it's clean concealed storage behind the two fluted doors. Internal measurements are available from our showroom team on 07 3161 5415.
Yes — the sideboard is sold on its own, but the Zuma range also includes the matching Zuma Oval Coffee Table and Zuma TV Unit, all in the same fluted dark grey body with teak veneer accents and solid timber legs. See "Complete the look" above.

Zuma Sideboard — full product details
The Zuma Sideboard is a modern Japandi-style sideboard measuring 150 × 40 × 84 cm, with a vertical fluted dark grey lacquered MDF body, soft curved racetrack-style ends, a real teak wood veneer top and slim solid timber tapered legs in a natural finish. It ships flat-packed in a single 152 × 40 × 75 cm carton and needs a screwdriver and rubber mallet (electric drill recommended), or add our $40 assembly service and we'll build it on delivery.
