Overview
The Zara design, scaled up to sideboard proportions
The Zara Sideboard takes the range's signature look — curved end caps with vertical slatted panels and brass-coloured grommets — and stretches it across a 150 cm horizontal profile. A matte black MDF top and body frame the wood-grain herringbone fronts: one large cabinet door on the left, three stacked drawers on the right. At 80 cm high and 40 cm deep it works as an entryway console, a dining-room buffet, or a behind-the-sofa anchor in an open-plan layout.
Curved Slatted Ends
The Zara range's signature detail — rounded end caps wrapped in vertical slatted panels, dotted with small brass-coloured grommets. At sideboard scale the detail gets more visual real estate and the curved profile is forgiving in traffic paths.
One Cabinet + Three Drawers
Mixed storage: the large cabinet door swallows bulkier things — table linens, spare crockery, board games — while three stacked drawers with black bar handles organise cutlery, keys, mail and paperwork.
True Console Height
At 80 cm the top lands in the sweet spot of the 75–90 cm console band — comfortable to set keys on walking past, right for a lamp, and level with most dining-room serving needs.
Three Rooms, One Piece
Entryway console for keys and post, dining-room buffet for serving and storage, or a behind-the-sofa anchor in open-plan living — the long, low-depth format suits all three.
Sizing guide
Will it fit your space?
Consoles and sideboards live in walkways, so fit matters more than it does for most furniture. Four quick checks before you buy — and an honest read on where the Zara's 150 × 40 cm footprint belongs.
- Keep 90 cm of clear walkway. Measure your hall's width and subtract the sideboard's 40 cm depth — you want at least 90 cm of clear passage left.
- The front-door test. Open your front door fully and mark where the handle's swing arc ends — the sideboard should start beyond that point.
- Two-thirds of the wall. At 150 cm long, the Zara looks right on a wall of roughly 2 to 2.3 metres, with 20–30 cm of breathing room each end.
- Behind a sofa, match the back. At 80 cm high, check your sofa's backrest height — the Zara suits mid-to-high-backed sofas where the top sits level with or just below the backrest.
The Zara's fit, honestly: at 40 cm deep it sits at the top of the console depth range — ideal in a hallway 130 cm or wider, an open-plan living area, an entry with room to move, or a dining room as a buffet. In a genuinely narrow hall (under about 120 cm), a slimmer console will serve you better — browse the full console range. Its 80 cm height is squarely in the 75–90 cm console sweet spot.

Storage
A cabinet for the bulky, drawers for the small
The Zara splits its 150 cm length into two kinds of storage. The large cabinet door on the left (with a small dark knob) swallows the bulky and the awkward — table linens, spare crockery, serving platters, board games. The three stacked drawers on the right (black bar handles) organise the small chaos: cutlery in a dining room, keys, mail and paperwork in an entry.
- Storage type
- 1 cabinet (left) + 3 stacked drawers (right)
- Door & drawer fronts
- Engineered wood, herringbone wood-grain finish
- Hardware
- Small dark knob (cabinet), black bar handles (drawers)
- Style
- Modern / japandi, matte black + walnut-tone
Internal cabinet and drawer measurements are available on request from our showroom team — call 07 3161 5415.
⚠ Warning — children have died from furniture tipover
- ALWAYS secure this furniture with an anchor device.
- NEVER allow children to stand, climb or hang on drawers, doors, or shelves.
- NEVER open more than one drawer at a time.
Anchoring hardware is inexpensive and takes only minutes to fit. If you're unsure how to anchor this piece, our showroom team can help — call 07 3161 5415.
Styling
Style it in three moves
The easiest styling formula for a long surface like this is the rule of three: one tall piece (a lamp or a vase of branches at one end), one low, wide piece (a bowl or tray — the landing spot for keys and wallets in an entry, or a serving board in a dining room), and one personal touch (art leaning against the wall, a candle, a framed photo). The Zara's matte black and walnut-tone palette suits japandi and modern schemes — keep styling sparse so the slatted ends and brass grommets stay the focal point.

- End caps

The fronts wear a wood-grain finish over engineered wood — the warm walnut-tone herringbone look without solid-timber cost or weight. The same matte black + wood-grain composition, slatted ends and brass-coloured detailing runs across all three Zara pieces.
Caring for your sideboard
Wipe the black top
A soft, dry microfibre cloth weekly — black painted surfaces show fingerprints and dust more than light tones, so a quick regular wipe keeps it sharp.
Care for the fronts
Wipe the door and drawer fronts gently with a soft dry cloth. For sticky spots, a barely-damp cloth followed by an immediate dry-off protects the wood-grain finish.
Keep the slat channels clear
The channels between the vertical slats can collect dust — a soft brush attachment or microfibre cloth lifts it out without disturbing the grommets.
Mind the cabinet door
Open and close the door gently rather than yanking — steady operation protects the hinges over years of use.

Delivery & pickup
Two ways to get it home
Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. It ships flat-packed in one 152 × 70 × 40 cm carton, so it handles doorways and stairwells far more easily than an assembled sideboard would.
Collect free from our Rocklea distribution warehouse by appointment. The single 152 × 70 × 40 cm carton is long — a van, ute, large SUV or roof racks will do it; it won't fit in a small hatch. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID. For full terms, see our Pickup & Delivery Terms.
Change-of-mind returns are accepted under our Return Policy; full conditions apply.

FAQ
Common questions
At 40 cm deep, the Zara sits at the top of the console depth range — it's ideal in a hallway 130 cm or wider, an entry with room to move, an open-plan living area, or a dining room. After subtracting its depth you want about 90 cm of clear passage left. In a genuinely narrow hall, one of our slimmer consoles will serve you better.
No — and we'd rather say so plainly. The top and body are matte black MDF, the cabinet and drawer carcass is particle board, and the door and drawer fronts are engineered wood with a herringbone wood-grain finish. You get the warm walnut-tone look without solid-timber cost or weight.
Yes — it ships flat-packed in one 152 × 70 × 40 cm carton. You'll need a screwdriver (an electric drill makes it quicker) and a rubber mallet. If you'd rather not, add our $40 assembly service in the buy box and our team will build it for you on delivery.
The large left cabinet suits bulkier items — table linens, spare crockery, serving platters, board games. The three right-hand drawers organise smaller things: cutlery in a dining room; keys, mail and paperwork in an entryway. Internal measurements are available from our showroom team on 07 3161 5415.
Yes — that's the point of the format. At 80 cm high it's squarely in the 75–90 cm console band, so it works as an entryway console for keys and post, and behind a mid-to-high-backed sofa as an open-plan anchor, where the top should sit level with or just below the backrest. It's equally at home as a dining-room buffet.
Yes — the sideboard is sold on its own, but it's one of three pieces in the Zara range. The Zara Coffee Table and Zara TV Unit share the same matte black + wood-grain composition, slatted ends and brass-coloured detailing, and the Zara Living Room Package bundles all three. See "Complete the look" above.
Full details
Zara Sideboard — full product details
The Zara Sideboard brings the range's signature design to sideboard proportions — a 150 × 40 × 80 cm horizontal profile with curved end caps, vertical slatted panels with brass-coloured grommets, one cabinet door on the left and three drawers on the right in engineered wood with a herringbone wood-grain finish. Construction is MDF for the matte black top and body with a particle board cabinet and drawer carcass, on slim black-finished legs.
At true console height (80 cm) with a 40 cm depth, it works three ways: a hallway or entryway console table for keys and post in wider halls, a dining-room buffet for serving and storage, or a behind-the-sofa anchor in open-plan layouts. It ships flat-packed in a single 152 × 70 × 40 cm carton and needs a screwdriver and rubber mallet to assemble (an electric drill makes it quicker), or add our $40 assembly service and we'll build it on delivery. Backed by a 12 month warranty.
Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different — we highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase. The Zara Sideboard coordinates with the matching Zara Coffee Table and Zara TV Unit — same matte black and wood-grain composition, slatted ends and brass-coloured detailing — or get all three in the Zara Living Room Package. See it in person at any of our five A2Z Furniture showrooms: Rocklea, Virginia, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich and Beenleigh.
