Overview
The coastal entryway piece of the Nelson range
The Nelson Console Table is a slim, two-tier entryway and hallway piece built from a blend of solid acacia wood and engineered wood, finished in the range's signature Brushed Smoke tone — a soft, weathered light-brown-and-cream finish with a coastal, weather-worn character. Two handle-less drawers hide keys, mail and everyday clutter; the open lower shelf takes woven baskets, big books or folded throws. It arrives pre-assembled — place it and start using it.
Acacia + Engineered Wood Build
A blend of solid acacia — natural grain, visible knots, real character — with engineered wood for dimensional stability, so the piece resists warping through entryway temperature and humidity swings. We say "blend" because that's what it is, not an all-solid claim.
Two Drawers + Open Shelf
Two handle-less drawers keep keys, mail, sunglasses and charging cables out of sight. The full-width lower shelf takes woven baskets (honest shoe storage), coffee-table books or styled decor.
Slim Entryway Footprint
Sized for hallways, entryways and behind-sofa positioning — flat against the wall without protruding into walking space, with meaningful surface area on top.
Arrives Pre-Assembled
No flat-pack frustration, no allen keys, no missing screws — carry it in, place it, done.
Sizing guide
Will it fit your hallway?
Console tables live in walkways, so fit matters more than it does for most furniture. Four quick checks before you buy any console — and how the Nelson's slim format handles them.
- Keep 90 cm of clear walkway. Measure your hall's width and subtract the console's depth — you want at least 90 cm of clear passage left.
- The front-door test. Open your front door fully and mark where the handle's swing arc ends — the console should start beyond that point.
- Two-thirds of the wall. A console looks right at about two-thirds to three-quarters of its wall span, with 20–30 cm of breathing room at each end.
- Behind a sofa, match the back. Used as a sofa table, the top should sit level with or slightly below the sofa's backrest.
The Nelson's fit: its slim, narrow footprint is designed to sit flat against a wall without pinching the walkway — in an entryway under a mirror (the description's own styling tip), along a hallway, or behind a sofa as a styled surface. Exact dimensions are being confirmed with the supplier — call our team on 07 3161 5415 and we'll measure a floor piece for your space before you order.

Storage
Two drawers up top, a working shelf below
An entryway console earns its keep by swallowing the small chaos of coming and going. The Nelson gives you two handle-less drawers for keys, mail, sunglasses and charging cables — the clean front keeps the weathered finish uninterrupted — and a full-width open shelf below for woven baskets, large books or folded throws.

⚠ Warning — children have died from furniture tipover
- ALWAYS secure this furniture with an anchor device.
- NEVER allow children to stand, climb or hang on drawers, doors, or shelves.
- NEVER open more than one drawer at a time.
Anchoring hardware is inexpensive and takes only minutes to fit. If you're unsure how to anchor this piece, our showroom team can help — call 07 3161 5415.
Styling
Style your entryway in three moves
The easiest console styling formula is the rule of three: one tall piece (a lamp or a vase of branches), one low, wide piece (a bowl or tray — the landing spot for keys and wallets), and one personal touch (a framed photo, a candle, a found object). The Brushed Smoke palette suits coastal and modern-farmhouse schemes — whitewashed or shiplap walls, soft blue and sandy neutrals, jute and seagrass textures — and a statement mirror hung above bounces light around and makes the entry feel larger.
Materials & care
Acacia and engineered wood in Brushed Smoke
- Construction
- Blend of solid acacia wood and engineered wood — not all-solid, and we say so plainly
- Finish
- Brushed Smoke — soft, weathered light-brown-and-cream
- Drawer fronts
- Handle-less
- Assembly
- None — arrives pre-assembled
The hybrid build pairs acacia's natural grain character — every piece slightly different — with engineered wood's dimensional stability, which matters in entryways where temperature and humidity swing more than interior rooms. The same Brushed Smoke finish runs across the whole Nelson range.
Caring for your console
Dust regularly
Wipe the top, drawer fronts, shelf and legs weekly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to lift dust before it settles into the grain.
Wipe spills promptly
A slightly damp cloth, then dry immediately — even brief soaking can mark timber and engineered wood alike.
Coasters & plant saucers
Coasters under cups, saucers under pots — plant pots without saucers leave moisture rings over time, even from minor watering.
Keep out of direct sun
UV can lighten the Brushed Smoke tone further or cause uneven patches — place away from prolonged direct sun.

Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. Because the console arrives pre-assembled, check your doorway and hallway widths before ordering.
Collect free from our Rocklea distribution warehouse by appointment. It travels pre-assembled, so bring a vehicle with a flat cargo area — a van, ute or large SUV. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID. For full terms, see our Pickup & Delivery Terms.
Change-of-mind returns are accepted under our Return Policy; full conditions apply.

FAQ
Common questions
It's a blend — solid acacia wood panels paired with high-quality engineered wood, and we'd rather say that plainly than stretch it. The acacia brings natural grain, knots and character; the engineered wood adds dimensional stability so the piece resists warping in entryways where temperature and humidity fluctuate.
No — it arrives fully pre-assembled. No flat-pack, no allen keys, no missing screws; carry it in and place it. The only job we do recommend is anchoring it to the wall with an anchor device, especially in homes with young children.
The Nelson uses a slim, narrow footprint designed to leave the walkway clear. Two quick checks: after subtracting the console's depth you want about 90 cm of clear passage left, and the console should start beyond your front door's swing arc. Exact dimensions are being confirmed — call us on 07 3161 5415 and we'll measure a floor piece for your space.
It's the Nelson range's signature tone — a soft, weathered light-brown-and-cream finish, lighter and more washed-out than typical acacia, giving the timber a coastal, weather-worn character. It pairs naturally with whitewashed walls, soft blues, sandy neutrals and woven textures.
The two handle-less drawers suit keys, mail, sunglasses and charging cables. The full-width lower shelf takes woven baskets (great for shoes at the door), large books, folded throws or styled decor. Internal measurements are available from our showroom team.
Yes — the console is sold on its own, but the Nelson range also includes the matching Coffee Table, TV Unit, Bookshelf, Dining Chair and Buffet, all in the same Brushed Smoke finish. See "Complete the look" above.

Nelson Console Table — full product details
The Nelson Console Table is a slim, two-tier entryway and hallway console built from a blend of solid acacia wood and high-quality engineered wood, finished in the range's signature Brushed Smoke tone — a soft, weathered light-brown-and-cream finish with coastal, weather-worn character. As a hall table or entryway table, the Nelson's narrow footprint sits flat against the wall without crowding the walkway — under a statement mirror in an entry (which bounces light and makes the space feel larger), along a hallway, or behind a sofa as a styled surface. The Brushed Smoke palette pairs with whitewashed and shiplap walls, soft blue and sandy-neutral upholstery, and jute and seagrass textures — Hamptons coastal, modern-farmhouse and beach-house interiors all suit it.
Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different — we highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase. The console is part of the wider Nelson range alongside the matching Nelson TV Unit, Nelson Coffee Table and Nelson Bookshelf, with the Nelson Dining Chair and Buffet carrying the same finish into the dining room.
