Overview

A matched dining room in one purchase

The Delta 9 Piece Grey and Black Dining Set pairs the 2 metre Delta Dining Table with 8 matching Dwayne Dining Chairs. The table carries dark tempered (heat-treated) safety glass on a high-gloss cream-grey lacquered MDF base with a recessed dark contrast band; the chairs are upholstered in grey and black PU (polyurethane) faux leather on a chromed metal base. It is a deliberately glamorous setting, and buying it as a set is the only way to be certain the metal finishes match — that is the hardest thing to pair after the fact.

Tempered Safety Glass

The top is heat-treated tempered glass — several times stronger than ordinary glass, and designed to break into small granular pieces rather than shards if it ever fails. It is not shatterproof, and we won't tell you it is; treat it as toughened glass and it serves well.

Lacquered Contrast Base

A high-gloss cream-grey lacquered base with a recessed dark contrast band sits beneath the glass. It is MDF with a lacquered finish, and we describe it that way rather than calling it solid timber.

2 m of Table

Six down the long sides, and eight once you seat the two ends — which is exactly how this set is configured. At 100 cm wide there is a clear run down the centre for serving dishes and candles.

Wipe-Clean Seats

The chairs are upholstered in PU faux leather — not animal leather, and we don't call it that. It wipes down after a meal, which matters on a table this size that actually gets used.

Does it fit?

What "9 piece" really seats, and the room it needs

A dining set is the piece people most often buy too big for the room — and the one where the number on the box and the number of people who actually fit can quietly disagree. Here are the real numbers for this set, taken from the table's and the chairs' own measurements.

Dining sizing guide: allow 60 cm of table edge per person, leave at least 90 cm of clear floor on every side, pair a 71 to 78 cm high table with chairs of 45 to 48 cm seat height for 25 to 30 cm of knee room, and a table-length-to-seats ready reckoner from 120 cm seating four up to 270 cm seating ten.
6–8Six down the long sides, and eight once you seat the two ends — which is exactly how this set is configured.
3.8 × 2.8 mMinimum room size, allowing the 90 cm of clearance you need to pull chairs out.
77 cmTable height — a touch above the usual 71–76 cm, so check your chair seats if you mix in others.
  • "9 piece" means one table and 8 chairs. Six down the long sides, and eight once you seat the two ends — which is exactly how this set is configured. We would rather set that out now than have you count places after it arrives.
  • Leave 90 cm clear on every side. That is the Australian standard for pulling a chair out and walking behind it. Add 180 cm to each of the table's dimensions and you get the minimum room: about 3.8 × 2.8 m. If the set sits near a kitchen walkway, aim for 105–120 cm of clearance instead — roughly 4.1 × 3.1 m.
  • On seat height, we would rather say we don't know. This table stands 77 cm, right at the top of the standard 71–76 cm Australian range, so a normal dining chair suits it. These chairs are from the matching range — but our supplier gives only their 100 cm overall height, not the seat height, so we cannot publish an exact knee clearance and will not invent one. Call 07 3161 5415 and we will measure a floor piece.
  • The chairs tuck, the backs stand clear. Each chair is 52 cm wide and 62 cm deep, so they sit along the table at the standard 60 cm-per-person spacing. The seats slide under the top; the 100 cm backs stand above it, so measure your walkway to the chair backs rather than to the table edge.
  • Measure the doorway, not just the room. The table ships flat-packed, so getting it in is easy — but once built it is 200 cm long and will not turn a tight corner. Build it in the room it is staying in.

Not sure it fits? Mark out 200 × 100 cm on your floor with masking tape, then add 90 cm all round and see what is left. Or call our showroom team on 07 3161 5415 — we will talk it through against your room measurements, and you can see the range set up at our Rocklea showroom.

Materials & care

Tempered glass, lacquered base, PU seats

Table
Dark tempered (heat-treated) safety glass on a high-gloss cream-grey lacquered MDF base — a genuine hardwood, not MDF or veneer
Chair frame
Chromed metal base

MDF panel upholstered in grey and black PU (polyurethane) faux leather — not animal leather
Warranty
1 year on every piece

The tabletop is tempered (heat-treated) safety glass — stronger than ordinary glass and designed to break into small granular pieces rather than sharp shards. It is not shatterproof: avoid knocking the edges and corners, which are the vulnerable points on any glass top, and don't stand on it. The base is lacquered MDF — we call it MDF rather than solid timber, because that is what it is.

Caring for your set

🍽️

Use placemats & coasters

Hot pans straight off the stove should never go directly onto the top. Placemats, coasters and a trivet keep it looking sharp and take the thermal shock out of the equation.

🧴

Clean the glass streak-free

A soft microfibre cloth with a little glass cleaner or warm water and vinegar. Spray the cloth rather than the glass so liquid doesn't run into the join with the base, and buff dry.

🥂

Mind the edges and corners

Tempered glass is strong across its face and vulnerable at the edges and corners. Most glass-top failures start with a knock to a corner, so take care moving chairs.

🪑

Clean the PU seats

Wipe the faux leather with a damp cloth and dry it off. Skip solvents, bleach and alcohol wipes — they dry PU out and it eventually cracks. Keep sharp objects and pet claws off the seat.

Protect the metal finish

The gold and chrome on the base and chair legs is a finish, not solid metal. Clean with a soft dry cloth only — abrasives and harsh chemicals will wear it through.

🔧

Check the fixings

Both the table and the chairs are bolted together and everyday use works fixings loose. Every few months check them and gently tighten anything that has moved.

What's in the box

Flat-packed, tools needed

The table ships flat in three cartons and needs a screwdriver and a rubber mallet, with an electric drill recommended. The chairs are boxed and also need a screwdriver. It is a two-person job, particularly lifting the top onto the base. If you would rather not, add set assembly to your order above and our team will handle it in your home on delivery.

Delivery & pickup

Two ways to get it home

Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. The set travels as multiple cartons on one delivery, all of them flat or boxed, so doorways and stairs are rarely a problem. Add set assembly above if you'd like it handled in the room on delivery.

Collect free from our Rocklea distribution warehouse by appointment. Plan for a long flat table carton plus a box per chair — that needs a van, a large trailer or two trips in a ute. Our supplier doesn't list the carton sizes, so call 07 3161 5415 before you come and we'll measure them for you. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID. For full terms, see our Pickup & Delivery Terms.

Change-of-mind returns are accepted under our Return Policy; full conditions apply.

FAQ

Common questions

9 pieces: one Delta Dining Table and 8 Dwayne Dining Chairs. Nothing else shown in the photographs is included — the styling props are there to give a sense of scale.

Six down the long sides, and eight once you seat the two ends — which is exactly how this set is configured. At 200 cm the Australian standard of 60 cm of table edge per person gives 3 settings a side, so 6 sit along the sides and the remaining chairs go at the ends. That is how the set is supplied, with 8 chairs. If you want everyone seated down the sides without using the ends, the 7 piece version is the one to choose.

The table top sits at 77 cm, a little above the usual 71–76 cm. These are the chairs from the same range and are the ones we recommend for it. We publish the chair's overall height (100 cm) but our supplier doesn't split out its seat height, and we won't invent a figure — if you need the exact knee clearance, call our showroom team on 07 3161 5415 and we'll measure a floor piece.

About 3.8 × 2.8 m as a minimum. The rule is 90 cm of clear space on every side so chairs can be pulled out and people can walk past — add 180 cm to each of the table's dimensions (200 × 100 cm) and that is your floor. Near a kitchen walkway, allow 105–120 cm of clearance instead, or roughly 4.1 × 3.1 m.

The table arrives flat-packed and needs a screwdriver and a rubber mallet, with an electric drill recommended; lifting the top onto the base is genuinely a two-person job. Each of the 8 chairs needs a screwdriver as well, with an electric drill making it quicker. If you would rather not do it, add set assembly to your order and our team will handle it in your home on delivery.

Dark tempered (heat-treated) safety glass. Tempering makes it several times stronger than ordinary glass and means that if it ever does fail it breaks into small granular pieces rather than sharp shards. It is not shatterproof, and we won't tell you otherwise — the edges and corners are the vulnerable points, as on any glass top. The base beneath is high-gloss lacquered MDF with a recessed dark contrast band, and the chairs are PU (polyurethane) faux leather on a chromed metal base.

Yes. The Delta Dining Table and the Dwayne Dining Chair are both sold separately, so you can add extra chairs for the ends later or replace a single piece. Buying them together as this set means they come from the same finish run.

The table carries dark tempered (heat-treated) safety glass on a high-gloss cream-grey lacquered MDF base with a recessed dark contrast band. The chairs are upholstered in grey and black PU (polyurethane) faux leather on a chromed metal base — PU faux leather is not animal leather and we do not describe it as such.

Six down the long sides, and eight once you seat the two ends — which is exactly how this set is configured. Allow at least 90 cm of clear floor on every side so chairs can be pulled out and people can walk behind them, which puts the minimum room size at roughly 3.8 × 2.8 m, or about 4.1 × 3.1 m near a kitchen walkway. Each chair measures 52 cm wide, 62 cm deep and 100 cm to the top of the back. Our supplier does not split out the chairs' seat height, so we do not publish an exact knee clearance for this set — call 07 3161 5415 and we will measure a floor piece.

The table ships flat in three cartons and requires assembly with a screwdriver and rubber mallet, with an electric drill recommended; the chairs also require a screwdriver.
