Overview

The glam end of the stone-top table

Where the Deception is restrained, the Davidson is decorative. The same white marble-look top with soft grey veining sits on a quilted grey pedestal banded in brushed gold — no corner legs, so chairs go anywhere around the oval — the finish language that runs through the whole Davidson range. The top is a marble-look finish, not real marble or stone: it gives you the designer look without the price, the weight or the upkeep of the real thing. At 200 × 100 cm and standing 78 cm high, it seats six comfortably and eight with the ends in use.

White Marble-Look Top

A smooth white surface with soft grey veining. It is a marble-look finish rather than real marble or stone — so there is nothing to seal, nothing to etch when a glass of wine goes over, and none of the weight or cost of a stone slab. We say marble-look rather than marble because that is what it is.

Quilted Grey Pedestal, Brushed Gold

A single quilted grey pedestal banded in brushed gold, rather than four legs — the same quilting and gold used across the Davidson range. Gold against grey is what pushes this table from plain to glam without tipping into gaudy, and a pedestal leaves every seat around the oval clear.

200 × 100 cm, and Tall With It

Three settings a side at the Australian 60 cm per person, plus the ends for eight. At 78 cm it stands slightly taller than most, which suits a formal dining room and a standard 45–48 cm chair seat.

Three Cartons, Manual Included

It arrives in three flat cartons with a printed instruction manual — linked below if you'd like to read the steps first. A screwdriver and rubber mallet do the job; the top is large, so it is a two-person lift.

Seats & space

How many it seats, and the room it needs

A dining table is the one piece people most often buy too big for the room. Three checks settle it — how many it really seats, how much floor it needs, and whether your chairs fit underneath. Here's how the Davidson's 200 × 100 × 78 cm measures up against the Australian rules of thumb.

Dining table sizing guide: allow 60 cm of table edge per person, leave at least 90 cm of clear floor on every side, pair a 71 to 78 cm high table with chairs of 45 to 48 cm seat height for 25 to 30 cm of knee room, and a table-length-to-seats ready reckoner from 120 cm seating four up to 270 cm seating ten.
6–8Six down the long sides at 60 cm each; eight with a chair at each end.
3.8 × 2.8 mMinimum room size, allowing the 90 cm of clearance you need to pull chairs out.
78 cmTable height — just above the standard 71–76 cm range.
  • Allow 60 cm of table edge per person. At 200 cm long, that's 3 settings down each side — six in total. Adding a chair at each end takes it to eight. Six is the everyday number; eight works for a full table.
  • Leave 90 cm clear on every side. That's the Australian standard for pulling a chair out and walking behind it. Add 180 cm to each of the table's dimensions and you get the minimum room: about 3.8 × 2.8 m. If the table sits near a kitchen walkway, aim for 105–120 cm of clearance instead — roughly 4.1 × 3.1 m.
  • Check your chair seat height. The top sits at 78 cm. A dining chair with a 45–48 cm seat height gives comfortable knee room; very low or heavily padded seats will feel cramped.
  • Plan the delivery path, not just the room. It ships flat-packed, so getting the cartons in is straightforward — but the top is large and awkward and once built it's 200 cm long and won't turn a tight corner. Build it in the room it's staying in.

Not sure it fits? Mark out 200 × 100 cm on your floor with masking tape and sit a chair at it before you order. Or call our showroom team on 07 3161 5415 — we'll talk it through against your room measurements.

Styling

Chairs, and what goes on top

Grey, white and gold is a deliberately dressy palette, so the chairs should either match the register or deliberately calm it. Velvet or quilted upholstery in grey, blush or deep green leans into the glam; plain black metal or bone linen pulls it back to something more liveable. Gold or brass candlesticks and a low arrangement echo the base detailing without adding clutter — and on a veined top, less on the surface is nearly always better.

The top is a marble-look finish over board, not natural marble and not engineered stone. That is a real advantage on a dining table — nothing to seal, nothing to etch, and a fraction of the weight — but treat it like a good laminate: coasters, trivets, and wipe spills rather than letting them sit at an edge or a join.

Caring for your table

🍽️

Use placemats & coasters

A marble-look surface is easy to live with but not immune. Coasters under drinks and trivets under hot dishes prevent ring marks and heat marking on the finish.

🧪

Don't leave spills sitting

Wipe liquid up promptly rather than letting it sit. Water left standing at a join or an edge can work into the board underneath, which won't come back out.

🧹

Mild soap, nothing harsh

A soft cloth with warm water and a little mild detergent is all it needs. Avoid abrasive pads and scouring powders, which will dull the printed finish.

🧽

Wipe the base separately

The base takes a soft, barely damp cloth. Skip abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals, which dull lacquered, painted and metal finishes.

What's in the box

Flat-packed — screwdriver, mallet and a second pair of hands

The Davidson Dining Table ships flat-packed. Assembly needs a screwdriver and a rubber mallet, and an electric drill makes it considerably quicker. The top is large and awkward, so it's genuinely a two-person job — or add assembly to your order above and our team will build it in your home on delivery.

Delivery & pickup

Two ways to get it home

Delivery cost is calculated by item and distance — enter your details in the estimator above, or at checkout. Delivery is to ground level / front garage only. The table travels flat-packed, so doorways and stairs are rarely a problem; add assembly above if you'd like it built in the room on delivery.

Collect free from our Rocklea distribution warehouse by appointment. The cartons are flat but long and the marble-look top is heavy — bring a vehicle that can take them lying flat, and a second person to load. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID. For full terms, see our Pickup & Delivery Terms.

Change-of-mind returns are accepted under our Return Policy; full conditions apply.

FAQ

Common questions

Six comfortably, or eight with the ends in use. At 200 cm long you get 3 settings down each side at the Australian standard of 60 cm of table edge per person; a chair at each end takes it to eight. Six is the everyday number, eight is the full-table number.

About 3.8 × 2.8 m as a minimum. The rule is 90 cm of clear space on every side so chairs can be pulled out and people can walk past — add 180 cm to each of the table's dimensions (200 × 100 cm). If the table sits near a kitchen walkway, allow 105–120 cm of clearance instead, or roughly 4.1 × 3.1 m.

No — and we won't pretend otherwise. It's a marble-look finish over board: a printed white surface with soft grey veining, not natural marble and not engineered stone. That's what keeps the price where it is, and it's far lighter and easier to look after than a real stone slab. If you want the genuine article, we'd rather point you elsewhere than mis-sell this.

Very closely. Because this is a marble-look finish rather than natural stone, the pattern is consistent from table to table — you get what is in the photo, which is one of the practical advantages over the real thing.

Yes. It arrives flat-packed and needs a screwdriver and a rubber mallet — an electric drill makes it quicker. The top is large and awkward, so plan on two people, or add in-home assembly to your order and our team will build it for you.

The top sits at 78 cm. Chairs with a seat height of about 45–48 cm give comfortable knee room; very low seats or thickly padded ones will feel tight. If your chairs have arms and you need the exact underside clearance, call us on 07 3161 5415 and we'll measure a floor piece.

No — the price is for the table alone. Dining chairs are sold separately.

Full details

Davidson Dining Table — full product details

The Davidson Dining Table is a 200 × 100 × 78 cm dining table with a white marble-look top, veined in soft grey, on a quilted grey pedestal banded in brushed gold. The top is a soft-cornered oval, and the finish is a marble-look finish rather than natural marble or engineered stone — which is what keeps the price sensible, the table light enough to move, and the upkeep down to a wipe with a damp cloth.

At the Australian standard of 60 cm of table edge per person, 200 cm seats six comfortably down the sides and eight once a chair goes at each end. Allow at least 90 cm of clear floor on every side so chairs can be pulled out and people can walk behind them, which puts the minimum room size at roughly 3.8 m × 2.8 m. At 78 cm the top stands slightly above the common 71–76 cm range, so pair it with dining chairs of about 45–48 cm seat height.

The table ships flat-packed in three cartons with a printed instruction manual, and needs a screwdriver and rubber mallet to assemble — the top is large, so it's a two-person job, or in-home assembly can be added to your order. It carries a 1-year warranty. Images are for illustration only; the actual product might be slightly different — we highly recommend you visit the store before the purchase. Pair it with the Davidson Coffee Table, or see the Deception Dining Table for a more restrained version of the same look. See it in person at any of our five A2Z Furniture showrooms: Rocklea, Virginia, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich and Beenleigh.
