Leather Looks, Without the Upkeep
A PU leather bed frame is the easy way to give a bedroom a sharp, contemporary edge. The smooth, sealed surface has the structured look of leather and a padded headboard that's comfortable to lean against — but unlike woven fabric there's no pile to crush or snag, and unlike timber there's nothing to oil or polish. A quick wipe is all it takes, which is exactly why it's such a practical choice for busy households and family bedrooms.
PU leather, honestly
Our leather-look beds are made from PU (polyurethane) leather — also called faux or synthetic leather. It's designed to look and feel like genuine leather, but costs far less, is easier to care for, and is animal-free. We're upfront about this: these are quality PU leather frames, not genuine hide — which, for most bedrooms, is exactly what you want.
Colours to Suit Your Room
Leather-look beds are all about a clean, confident finish:
Black
The classic — a black PU leather bed frame reads sleek and modern, and pairs effortlessly with almost any bedding or flooring. Our most popular leather look.
White
Crisp and contemporary, white keeps a smaller or lighter room feeling open and bright while still looking polished.
Grey
A softer middle ground — grey adds a contemporary, understated tone that's easy to live with and quick to style.
Leather Beds in Every Size
Most of our PU leather designs come right across the Australian range. The leather double bed suits a guest room or smaller space, the leather queen bed frame is the popular choice for main bedrooms, and the leather king bed frame gives a larger master a bold, structured anchor. Browse by size:
A Headboard Built for Leaning Back
The padded headboard is the centrepiece of a leather-look bed — generous and comfortable to lean against while reading or watching TV, and often finished with tufting or clean panel stitching for a tailored, modern look. The sealed PU surface keeps that headboard looking sharp with nothing more than the occasional wipe.
Storage Options
A leather-look bed can work harder, too. Many designs include built-in drawers for folded clothing and linen, while gas-lift versions raise the whole mattress base to reveal a deep storage cavity beneath — ideal for spare bedding, luggage or off-season clothes. Browse our storage bed frames and gas-lift beds for the leather options.
Comfort, Support & Care
Under the upholstery, our PU leather frames are built on a sturdy timber and engineered-wood structure with a slatted base that supports the mattress directly and lets it breathe — so you don't need a separate ensemble base. Larger double, queen and king frames include a centre support rail where applicable to keep the mattress firm and prevent sagging. Caring for PU leather is genuinely easy: wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth and a little mild soapy water, then dry it off with a clean cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents and abrasive scourers, and keep the bed out of prolonged direct sun and heat, which can dry the surface over time. There's no need for leather conditioner or oil — those are for genuine hide, not PU.

PU Leather Bed Frame FAQs
Is PU leather real leather?
No — PU (polyurethane) leather is a synthetic, faux leather made to look and feel like genuine hide. It's more affordable, easier to care for and animal-free. Our leather-look beds are quality PU leather, not genuine leather, and we're upfront about that so you know exactly what you're buying.
How do I clean a PU leather bed frame?
Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth and a little mild soapy water, then dry it with a clean cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents and abrasive scourers, and keep the frame out of prolonged direct sun and heat. You don't need leather conditioner or oil — those are for genuine leather, not PU.
What colours do PU leather bed frames come in?
Black is the most popular for its sleek, classic look, with white and grey as lighter, contemporary alternatives. Availability varies by design, so check each product page for the exact colour.
What sizes are available?
Most PU leather designs come across the Australian range — single, king single, double, queen and king. Popular picks are the leather queen and leather king bed frame. We don't stock super-king. Use the size links above to see what's available.
Do PU leather bed frames come with storage?
Yes — many include built-in drawers, and gas-lift designs raise the mattress base to reveal a large storage area beneath. Check our storage and gas-lift collections for the leather options.
Is PU leather durable?
Quality PU leather is hardwearing and holds its finish well with simple care. Wipe spills promptly, avoid abrasives, and keep the bed out of prolonged direct sun and heat to stop the surface drying out — and it will keep its sharp look for years.
Are PU leather bed frames easy to assemble?
They arrive flat-packed with clear instructions and the fixings included. Assembly is straightforward, though a second person makes handling the padded headboard and side rails easier. Specifics are noted on each product page.
