Your Klarna payment options
The options shown at checkout depend on your order value and Klarna's approval. Here's what Klarna offers in Australia.
Pay in 4
Split your purchase into four interest-free instalments. Your first payment is taken when your order is shipped, and the remaining three are charged automatically every two weeks.
Pay in full
Pay the whole amount upfront through Klarna for a fast, secure checkout with stored cards and the added peace of mind of Klarna's Buyer Protection.
Pay over time
For larger orders, Klarna may offer longer-term financing paid back in monthly amounts. A short application gives an instant decision; fees or interest may apply.
All instalments and reminders are managed directly in the Klarna app or at klarna.com — The A2Z Furniture doesn't handle your repayments.
Fees, eligibility & credit checks
Klarna is a responsible lender. Here's what to know before you choose it at checkout.
Interest & fees
- Pay in 4 and Pay in full are interest-free when you pay on time.
- Miss a payment and a late fee may apply, calculated on your total order value and capped under Klarna's terms.
- Always review your payment plan and Klarna's terms before you buy.
Who can use Klarna
- Be a resident of Australia.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a valid debit or credit card, or a bank account.
- Be able to receive verification codes by SMS.
- Pass Klarna's approval checks.
Credit checks
- Klarna runs a credit check to assess your eligibility — part of responsible lending.
- This may appear on your credit file but doesn't directly affect your credit score.
- Late or missed payments can affect your score and your ability to use Klarna in future.
Returns, refunds & problems with your order
Buying big-ticket furniture? Here's how repayments work if you need to return an item or something arrives damaged.
If you return an item
Once your return is on its way, open the Klarna app, select the order and report a return — this pauses your statement so you're not paying for something that's coming back.
If something's wrong with your order
If your furniture arrives damaged, faulty or doesn't turn up, you shouldn't be paying for it while it's sorted out. Klarna's Buyer Protection has you covered.
Returns and delivery are also covered by our own policies — see delivery & pickup and contact us for anything order-specific.
Managing payments & your security
Managing your payments
The Klarna app and website put everything in one place. Track your orders, due dates and amounts, switch payment methods, and get reminders before anything is due.
Need a little longer? You can extend the due date once per order directly in the app. If you're ever struggling to pay, Klarna's financial-hardship support team can help.
Your security comes first
Klarna protects every purchase with bank-level security and real-time fraud monitoring. Your payment details are encrypted and processed securely.
The A2Z Furniture never sees or stores your full card or bank details — they stay with Klarna, and you can remove a saved card any time.
Klarna FAQs
Is Klarna interest-free?
Yes — Pay in 4 and Pay in full are interest-free when you pay on time. If you miss a payment, a late fee may apply, calculated on your order value and capped under Klarna's terms. Longer-term financing, where offered, may carry fees or interest.
When is my first payment taken?
With Pay in 4, your first instalment is collected when your order is shipped. The remaining three payments are then charged automatically every two weeks.
Will using Klarna affect my credit score?
Klarna performs a credit check to assess your eligibility as part of responsible lending. The check may appear on your credit file but doesn't directly affect your score. However, late or missed payments can affect your score and your eligibility to use Klarna again.
What if I return an item or it arrives damaged?
Report a return or a problem in your Klarna account to pause your statement while it's resolved — so you're not paying for goods that are coming back or aren't right. Once we've processed it, Klarna issues an updated invoice or refund. Arrange the return or report the fault with our team first.
Who can use Klarna?
To use Klarna in Australia you must be an Australian resident, at least 18 years old, have a valid card or bank account, be able to receive SMS verification codes, and pass Klarna's approval checks.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Klarna sends a reminder before your payment is due and will try to collect again if a payment fails. A missed amount is added to your next scheduled payment, and a late fee may apply based on your order value. You can extend a due date once per order in the app, and Klarna offers hardship support if you need it.
